What's the lowest FPS you've ever used while clearing out pests or hunting? What distance? Pellet weight? What was your quarry?

A .177 dome at 550fps muzzle velocity passed through two house sparrows at 20 yards.
And here's a scope cam example of a grey squirrel taken with a brain shot at 30 yards with a .177 wadcutter at 625fps.
My opinion is this sort of thing is only suited for the most favorable conditions, as in pest control from a known distance (as opposed to stalking around) because the trajectory is very loopy and even slight range estimation errors can easily make the difference between a clean kill and a wounded animal. The same concern applies to wind.

Daisy BB gun for pest birds and chipmunks probably shooting about 280 fps say at up to 15 yards. However if I was buying a more suitable pest gun on a budget up to squirrel, pigeon and rabbit size, I would opt for a Daisy 880 which I believe shoots in the 600 fps range with 8.4 gr pellets.

A 6.6gr plastic BB passed through my skin at 255fps when i forgot to get the finger out of the chrony´s dangerous end at an airsoft match.. blood was involved..

I've taken mice, rats, small birds, and other dangerous game with airsoft pistols shooting plastic BBs about 250-325 FPS.
And green June beetles in flight with a Red Ryder BB rifle-
And cottontail and jack rabbits with .22 Co2 pistols producing 425-500 FPS with 14.3 grain pellets to 35-40 yards-
35 yard offhand shot.

My 90's Pumpmaster was lobbing 5.1gn BBs at about 600 fps for ~4 fpe. And that thing killed countless rabbits, squirrels, and birds. And also a raccoon that one time. I swear it's true. I was a kid...don't hate.

When I had my Steyer LG-1 I was picking off rabbits at 30 yards with it. It is all about shot placement at lower powers.

Mice with 3 pumps from Crosman 1377. Probably just under 300 fps. wadcutters do not exit broadside shots at that speed and stop them immediately.

Flies with a Bug-A-Salt . . . works great. It shoots salt at an unknown speed as my Chrony won't pick it up, but it ain't much. I've "patterned" it on aluminum foil at about a foot and it won't shoot through it . . .

GK1 with power turned all the way down is sending .22 14.5gr at 420fps. It's fantastic. Super quiet. Small, easy to conceal. Slow enough that it's easy to see the pellet in flight, fast enough to do the job. With the GK1 you can adjust and send a followup if the first one missed.

I am amazed i have not seen anyone put this in steroids, and really coarse salt or similar.
My FAC Maverick when i got it shot 13 grain MRD pellets at 570 or so FPS, at the MAX setting ( BAD FX / Bad Danish seller selling sub 12 as FAC )
Anyway at that modest speed the MRD pellets was lasers out to 50 M, any faster and it turned into a scatter gun just shooting 1 pellet at a time.

I just shot a chipmunk that was right next to my house with my .22 Huben dialed way down - probably to about 350 FPS or so at that setting, based on earlier Chrony testing, using a JTS 18.1 grain pellet. I was about 20 feet away and held over about 2 inches above him and got him.

I had one of those but likewise found it didn't have much punch. At one point I designed and printed a screw on device (with baffles to make sure salt didn't flow backwards into the barrel). Looked like a moderator with a loading port about halfway down. effective on the pp700 and could take things out that the bug a salt couldn't.

I had a Crossman bb gun looked like an M1, spring gun (the barrel jacked) no idea of the fps, killed a few birds when I was a kid. Probably 15yards max.
