This is strange and I’m genuinely confused. Why are people liking (thumbs up) ads in the classifieds forum? What is the purpose of doing so?

Maybe it’s just an unconscious reaction for a younger generation. Trigger finger always on a like button.

I've liked a couple of adds because of great prices on quality items. In a day and age where most people are price gouging, I try to show some kind of support for genuine people who are humble and modest about their prices.

If it looks like a deal, or a great looking gun, I'll give it a like. Comments aren't allowed for good reason, but 'likes' ain't hurting anything.

Pretty much on par with most of the replies here, I do the same when its a nice item for a good price.

When I first became a member and I didn’t have 10-20 (I don’t remember the number) posts/comments. I would click the “like” button in hopes that the seller would PM me about the item(s) they were selling.

Common practice over at BladeForums, too. Apparently, when some one looks at a high quality handmade knife, the viewer clicks "like" to show his appreciation for the craftsmanship. But as for an airgun, not sure what the motivation is. Some good observations above mine, though.
