When do you know it's time to call it quits ?

I probably will never get out of the PCP world but,.... it's mainly because to sell my guns would be a huge pain ( posting, dealing with buyers, packing and shipping ) and I will never get what I would like to.

But,.....if I could sell all in bulk, guns, pumps, ammo, extra parts I would do it in an heartbeat,
it's not that I'm tired or don't like PCPs anylonger is just that I don't target shoot or plink ( and that is a huge reason airguns are a big plus )
my hunting is very limited nowadays for a variety of reasons and even my Marling 60 would do everything my airguns do.
The big challenge in hunting big game with airguns has been the driving factor in my adventure but now I can definitely say it's not that strong anylonger so,.......yeah I feel my time would be here.

I don't see myself ever fully quitting but once I figured out what I liked, I downsized quite a bit. Down to two impacts (MK2/M3), Texan LSS, and a crosman pumper I'm going to mod to high hell over the winter.

Tried some, sold some, ended up where I feel pretty good without getting in too much hot water with the wife 😁 Will see what happens when the sidewinder comes out.......

i kinda feel as if i'm getting to that point. usually a hobby lasts me about 5 years, and this one is going on 10.

at a certain point, i feel as if i've done all i want. same with ham radio before this hobby. i think i might get into wood refinishing next.

i've sold or selling all but a couple guns i like best. it'll still be a part of my life, just not as often.

Haven't been shooting two months now due to Florida's notorious heat and humidity. one small silver lining from Hurricane Ian was that it pulled all that away as it moved out. Cleared brush from range, replaced bad target lumber then inside to wipe down PCPs and air up. Shooting bench and Predator rest set up under large porch umbrella, fresh paper targets out, and, finally, back to shooting! Some minor scope adjustments aside, PCPs were as accurate as ever. Feel five years younger and so much better, nah, ain't never gonna give it up. WM

When I don’t have time or am physically or financially unable to shoot. Or maybe if I lose my mind and someone stops me from shooting. Aside from that, I’m shootin’.
I guess it all comes down to how much shooting ( target or plinking you do ) I personally do none of the two, my only target shooting is when checking zero so really there is no advantage for me to have PCPs since I can shoot my Marlin 60 in my yard and again the Marlin 60 would also do the same my PCPs do for hunting.

Don't get me wrong I love PCPs and really love my guns, it just seems like a luxury right now, some guns I have not shot in months, many months.

I understand your thinking and how you have full filled your PCP quest and now it's time to move on. It is difficult to sell off many things this large as the selling, paying, boxing/shipping is quite cumbersome and a bulk sale would be so much easier! Maybe you can find a local person who would purchase most of your collection....

I, myself and me have too many air guns;I and my other guys will someday get rid of what is not used often enough.
The question is when;,I sometime think peer pressure is the cause of too much,I know it can be.
Excuses are everywhere; I am going to,be buried with my 44-year-old R7 and my 1720.
And with the money I get from my air rifles= spend it on my other addiction, high-end audio.
Peer pressure feeds the addiction," Just Say No"!
Sorry, I do not think I was any help.

Yeah, over here there's almost no one shooting airguns and sure they get scared when they hear the price :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

I understand your thoughts. I have gone through, or am stil in the middle of that with fishing.
It’s become more work than enjoyment.
But I do target and plink, along with pesting, so my air guns will be with me for a while.
The key for me is to not buy too many. Each has a purpose and fits into a certain power slot.

Do what makes the most sense for you.

Is it one of the rainstorms that you cut down at both ends? Mmm that would fit me perfectly!

@AirArcher66 Well if you aren’t shooting paper or steel targets then I can see your point. I’m not too big of a fan of it, but I punch paper because I don’t pest much and I’m not always after predators. Thankfully we don’t have a chronic hog problem in this area. So when hunting season is done I have to shoot something.
