When does one have enough pellet traps and targets?

I love to shoot paper targets. It isn't very forgiving at times, but it's the best way for me to become a better shooter.
That being said I'm sure my back yard would be considered lead contaminated with all the pellets I send down range, so I try to collect what I can with my metal bullet traps.
I started out with a home made wooden pellet trap filled with duct seal and that got old fast. Then I bought a $70 Champion Rimfire Bullet trap and like it so good that I searched Craigslist for some used ones and found a guy that sold me 3 more bullet traps for $20 each. One of those was a Champion and the other two are the cheaper "Do- All" Rimfire bullet traps. I recommend spending the extra bucks for the Champion.

I'm just fat, old and lazy. There's no other way to put it. So when I shoot, I like to have my targets already set out at the different yardages needed to shoot Field target ranges from 10 yds to 55 yds.

I posted this earlier for my close shot practice and I finally got around to putting wheels on it to move it around the yard easier.

I know...I know...it's not a metal pellet trap, but it does a good job of containing my .177 pellets at 20 FPE. When the 2x12 target slabs get too pellet riddled, I just toss them and cut some new ones for it.

Now back to the metal bullet traps

At the longer ranges I like to shoot every 5 yds from 30 yds on out to 55 yds and sometimes I shoot every 2.5 yds. So that's where the metal bullet traps come in handy. Oh, and I have two more boxes filled with rubber mulch to serve for the 5th and 6th pellet trap! LOL

You can never have enough right? I like to shoot the WRABF targets as well and the WRABF target is just too dang big for those little bullet traps. I would have to put two of them side by side to catch the pellets. So I called my buddy Strikefast and asked him if he could custom make a metal pellet trap to fit the WRABF targets?
Wow, boy did he ever make a pellet/bullet trap. Made it with 1/4" plate steel! LOL It weighs a whopping 45 pounds! And wow, the thing is too darn pretty to shoot? LOL

It ought to be sin to put my rusty old bullet traps beside it, but wanted to show you guys pictures for comparison. My two Champion traps are on each side of it and the "Do All's" are right below it. I leave them set out in the back yard at predetermined ranges and all I have to do is slap the paper targets on them when ready to shoot. I hoard cardboard for the backing on the paper targets. The wrinkly paper is what happens when you forget to bring the paper inside for the night and the evening dew hits it.

"strikefast"Glad you like it Jimmy... Looking at your back range it appears like the testing site for Paul's Custom Metal Targets. You have four of my WFTF targets, several spinners, the trap, and your favorite, the super Gong!

Glad to see my work getting so much use.... Lol
Now I just need you to build a fifty yard indoor pellet rifle range ????? LOL
That wind was a mutha today.

"addertooth"You will never have enough traps until you have a couple that will stop your eventual big bore purchase.
Adder
I had a .50 Dragon Slayer for a year or two. Finally got the big bore outta my system. I sometimes dream of a .30 cal RAW though? LOL
But in reality I think .25 cal would be my stopping point! Had a few of those as well.

Four shipping container end to end and you've got your range. I'll be down once a year for a week of testing.

Thanks for the idea Ken. Might come in handy when it gets too hot to shoot during the day this summer? Got pics? ;-)
