When it rains it Leaks!

No sooner did I post here asking for recommendations because my lower end filter took a crapper, than I get a huge leak in the Alpha filter on the high pressure side. Geez!!!

Still need to find the problem. Sigh...

Your PMV on the output side probably is leaking through the side vent hole. You probably blew the 004 size O-ring that seals the PMV. A friend of mine just replaced this O-ring and the 2 010 o-rings in his when it started leaking. Get 90 duro O-rings otherwise 70 duro replacements will blow under high pressure.

Sorry for the ignorance, but: What is PMV? It escapes me. Do you know the size of these Orings & where I can get them? Thanks!

PMV means Pressure Maintaining Valve. It is the brass check valve on the output side of the Alpha filter. It holds pressure until a certain level is reached so that low pressure air doesn't flow through the desiccant media. Air under pressure squeezes out moisture and allows the filter cartridge to easily capture it. Moisture vapor in low pressure air can bypass the filter and condense inside the air tank. PMV's are only in use when filling from empty. A tank with at least 1800 psi acts like a PMV as soon as the tank valve is opened and the back pressure from the tank keeps the filter cartridge pressurized for peak performance.
