When you care how your pellets arrive.....

You order them from Trenier. I got my order of pellets from Trenier today. As always they were packed like fine china. I ordered 20 tins of pellets and all individually packed in bubble envelopes. Like anyone else I like a bargain but it usually comes with poor packaging and banged up pellets. I won't bash vendors but I will brag on good ones. Trenier has good prices and fair shipping costs. Paying perhaps a little bit more easily justifiable when your pellet tins arrive like this. Plus I like supporting smaller businesses.

It amazes me that people spend crazy money on their airgun rig and then skimp on pellets. Even when buying good brand pellets, they dont work as good as they should if they're all banged up. I'm not sizing or sorting pellets by any means, but pellets should at least get to me undamaged. Skimping on pellets is like skimping on car tires or fishing line. Skimping on any of these key ingredients can be very costly.

I live 20 minutes or so from Pyramyd Air so I pick up. They pack the pellets the same way for shipping or pick up in person.
The only down side to PA is we have to pay sales tax, which of course is a fact of life. But on expensive items like guns, it hurts, that’s where they might lose some sales to UA.
A friend recently scored a great deal from PA on a RAW .22, 20% off. That’s a great deal on an upper tier airgun.

Maybe I can elaborate from my point of view. They advertise that they care about your purchase and offer testing of operation and function for fees. But, many folks usually pass on those services since they actually exceed the cost of shipping. Look at how many posts on this very forum are about or contain content regarding a leaky or faulty gun that must be returned to PA. (I'd rather pay a lil more to a retailer that provides those services arbitrarily.)
I have called the sales staff to get more details on a gun in the $750-$1000 range and they immediately "pimp" the Avenge X as hard as they can. They justify it by informing the customer that THEY actually partook in the research and development of that product so it's a "hands down" best choice. This just informs me that they are making more than the price mark-up to MSRP.
I don't have any issues with PA and I buy most of my ammo from them BECAUSE of how they package them. I choose to buy my airguns elsewhere because (as a consumer) it is MY responsibility to find the deals that make the most sense to ME.
