Where are the high(er) quality ED/UHD Scope deals? Vanished?

Been looking since the beginning of the year for deals on discounted higher end/ tier 1 scopes with manufactures transition to new models and see little in the way of inventory available. Am I just not as connected as Odoyle 😆

$2k budget.

I am looking for a light weight (under 27oz) FFP mil scope 4x20x 50(ish) for my MK3. Athlon APRS1 reticle is what I'm use to.

All opinions are welcome and thank you.

Sure thing, B. I didn't either. I got a NX8 4-32 as my first really high end scope shortly after it was released. I saw the F2 a few days ago, looked at my scope that read F1 and was scratching my head if it was a second version or something. Had to hit the Nightforce website to see what was up.

I don't know about getting another NX8 4-32, but I'm definitely considering a showroom demo of the 2.5-20x with either the Mil-XT or Tremors3 reticle. Love the Mil-XT in my 4-32. I can't quite figure out the Tremor3 reticle - there's a lot going on there.

BTW OP - @2L8 - your name is somewhat appropriate for this thread because you just missed a great March scope sale where you could've gotten true Tier1 glass for a great price.

I just got a Nightforce NX8 4-32x it's pretty heavy for what you seek like 28-29 oz or so.

The March F 3-24x is a lot lighter especially the non illuminated version (I have both). Like 20- 22 oz give or take.

I know you're super critical of scopes. I'm curious what you think of the glass. I am very happy with edge to edge clearness. I've notice it starts to darken around 24x, but even up to 32x the reticle and target are crystal clear in mine. The reticle can be thin at 4x, but if you turn on the illumination you get a very usable cross.

I don’t think you will get Tier1 for $2000 and under. There are not a lot of really nice scopes in that price range but not many in lightweight.

For lightweight, the NX8 is nice, and as Steve says, most people say stick to 4-32. The March Odoyle mentioned would definitely be another option with the 52 objective, but I’ve never owned one. I would probably own another NX8 4-32 (I purchased for same reasons as you are asking), and I probably would have liked it more if I had not owned the ATACR directly before it. It is very nice, but I would purchase other cheaper scopes first if weight was not a deal breaker.Â
