Other Where do all the old air guns go to die?

I am a collector, builder and just straight up crazy tinker. I have a passion to create something from stuff that others have lost interest in or discarded, even past functioning (broken). I can find many a springer but not finding any pcp's. Are there not as many out there in the wild to be had. Maybe all the pre charged guys collectors as well?

The China guns? Probably a land fill or metal recycle yard. Does low grade aluminum slag get recycled? The nice ones that just had the misfortune of being superseded by the new Magnum Super Flash XF Version 1.3 Mark V-2II and cost so much new and depreciated so much used that they sit now, forlorn, in the back of a safe or rack. Nothing sadder than a nearly new PCP now left behind by the newest model nor worth less. So, they sit, obstinate owner wanting to recoup so can get the newest hotness and new buyers not so interested in the old shoe. But they ain't ever gonna be free.

PCP's are for the most part as recreational / competition air guns only @ 35 years old give or take. All the rest ( types ) a Century or more !!!
Also the PCP even today is honestly a Specialty type of air gun and not what you find generally in brick & mortar Retail stores .... That, is where most purchase their BB & Pellet guns.

So there you are .... Knitting needles in a hay stack sorta thing ... IMO

I go to the Air Gun shows, and see people want nearly new price for a used gun . So like said b4 they sit in a safe / corner / basement ?
OR they go on Ebay and think the gun is worth more than new hahaha .

There are some modern pcp guns that are becoming collectable guns

Rapids
Early Dennis Quackenbush
Filarms
JBC
Some of the older FX guns
Falcon

Etc... they are out there
A.H. Hartley
Air Arms
BSA

Specifically the fine wood stock British Rifles.

I have a Falcon and a Hartley
Just gorgeous.
I want more!

So there is the truth of it, and my answer as well. I am off to the local gun show today in the hopes of finding my "knitting needle in a haystack". Some hobbies are a little more effort challenged then others. 😣 It beats staying home and doing housework!
Yaa What Dave said and after I finish my domestics I am going some where too ! ;)

Considering letting this one go. Bought it to shoot Hunter Field Target but decided to go sub 12fpe and sit on my butt... 😆

It's in .177 with really only one blemish. Shouldn't be crazy to fix but I tend to use my guns so it doesn't bother my but she's too pretty in my opinion to live in my safe. I'd rather get go to someone that will appreciate her more.

The older (vinatge) pcp’s are floating around still. Hit some airgun shows and you’ll find some true classics. In fact, I’ll have several vintage Daystate, Falcon and Theobens on my table at the Indiana Airguns Show in April.

I see you are in Utah, head over to Sacramento and hit the Pacific Airgun Show this year.
