FX Where to find a Barrel band?? i need a barrel band for my dreamline lite with 700cc carbon bottle.

Hi guys

i will start by saying that i hate the fact that i have to look for this ugly barrel band on such a good, expensive airgun- this seems to be a weak point to its design but hey, it is what it is..

i will swap my cylinder for a 700cc carbon bottle (2024 dreamline lite with .30cal 600mm barrel)

i am looking for a cool looking barrel band that has a rail on the bottom for the bipod

i can not find anything except those ugly looking tinny bands that fit the barrel/cylinder.. but not much for the carbon bottles

so maybe some of you got already some bands for your carbon bottles and care to share a photo and a link to the product

i know one can print 3d anything but i cant.

this is the bottle i will get- length 410mm, diameter 60mm..

Not trying to poopoo your plans. But, it shouldn't be needed. Do you have the ultralite barrel? Accuracy improved greatly on mine with the removal of the band. Even the .30 700mms I've gotten hands on with were perfectly fine without the band. The barrel connection into the receiver is fairly solid, add in threading on the shroud and it shouldn't droop at all.

If you do decide to go the band route, eBay is the first place to look. Just make sure you have the proper bottle diameter.

she is pretty :D

thank you for the info- you are not pooping on my plans- you are telling me that i dont need a band which is great! i hate the looks of it but keep seeing so many for sale that i assumed it is NEEDED...

you said: add in threading on the shraud.. you mean i should add it (how) or you mean its already there from the factory?

how do i know if my model has ultralite barrel? i bought it in germany..

You likely do. That black tube around the liner is the barrel shroud. It's on. It's likely an ultra light model. I'd have to see a picture. But the shroud threads on to the liner lock. Its basically one solid unit and the two decently sized grub screws that secure the breech of the barrel in the receiver do a good job of supporting the entire unit.

Mine is a .25 caliber, I put a Donny FL Tanto moderator on it, I was worried about "barrel drop" when I initially bought the gun. It doesn't exist. The barrel is fine. The tanto has done its job very well. Even at higher powers my gun makes very very little noise. ..
This dreamline is my favorite gun of all that I own.

and tell me please how long is your air cylinder? i am getting a 700cc bottle which is 41cm long and would like to be able to imagine how far the bottle will go on my 600mm barrel? i assume you have a 600mm barrel in your pics..
Yes 600. That's a 500cc 250bar aluminum cylinder.now I have a 500cc CF cylinder.

Buy the cylinder from Amazon. A tuxing (,alsafe,) carbon fiber cylinder with m18x1.5 threads. And get the fx valve separately. Do not pay the 300 for the fx brand. They use the same exact alsafe bottle. Don't get ripped off

Here's my prediction based on my own experiences with barrel bands on FX guns:

You'll shoot a group before you add the band and it will be fine.

You install the band and shoot another group, it will be a little high, but ok.

In a few months down the road will come posts of wandering POI issues.

Then the band will be for sale in the classifieds.

IMHO, no good ever comes from barrel bands unless the gun is so poorly designed that the band holds the barrel more still than a pot-metal receiver.

I'll never ever put a bipod on a barrel, your just asking for trouble with repeatable groups.

(Side note)

Alsafe makes FX cf bottles.

I was showing you my bottle. Mine is 300mm /1 foot
ok, so yours is 30cm long, mine will be 41cm long- good.. i just wanted to picture how far will my new bottle be on my barrel... i will get the 700cc...

so this one from amazon for 179usd seems like a bargain instead of paying 360euro for the one from huma...

i just don't know yet if they ship to germany but will find out.. and then order the valve from huma.. is assembly easy- just screw the new valve in? use teflon or no..

do you think tanto will quiet the .30 cal? i don't want to over do it with the can if a small tanto will do the job fine.. i am a fan of the smallest cans- i don't want to make this gun even longer- its already enourmously LONG!

Just screw in. I've never used thread locker or Teflon tape, others, I'm sure, have. I would suggest also getting a power plenum or two.

I honestly don't know. I do know that I'm getting 62fpe with my .25 configuration and even at 950fps with a 30gr slug it's barely making noise.

The tanto on the dreamline has worked well for me. If not you can try the KOI which is about the same diameter but 2" longer. Or maybe try the Huma Air 30 series. Which Is modular and you can remove sections to balance length and effect.

great that you mention it! i am planning 2 power plenums but i heard that the new dreamlines already come with one preinstalled from factory so i might have to get just the second one.. but i will run 2.. i assume you run 2- are you happy with the results?

Stock the dreamline in 25 caliber typical gets around 52/54 ft lbs of energy. I've added the Huma high flow transfer port, hi flow probe, and high power tuning spring. I've left the stock hammer.. I shoot slugs so I want a hard stroke with a short dwell... So high tension spring and light hammer fills that need. I'm shooting 30gr slugs at 945-948FPS. That's right about 62ft lbs of energy. That is set at about 45% of internal hammer spring tension, the power wheel at 19, the regulator at 133bar... There is A GOOD BIT left in reserve, so to say.

Stock I was maxed out on internal hammer spring with the wheel on max or 23. And the reg at 130bar.

A single plenum added a good bit of extra fps. I was set at 880 fps at 115bar shooting pellets when I installed it. Immediately upon re gassing was shooting 918fps. Because I'm using hi flow components, high pressure, and pushing slugs I added the 2nd plenum just to be sure it had enough air per cycle. It's not necessary I don't think, but I did it to be certain. Plus its relatively cheap addition.

I love my dreamline. The accuracy is astounding. With the slug liner 1:16 twist STX slug liner I'm getting single hole groups out to 70yards and MOA or better average groups at 100y. With the stock STX superior.1:24 twist barrel. Pellets were shooting incredibly well. 1.2MOA or better at 100. It's a great gun.

ok.. i don't want to do longer, the whole gun is already too long.. i will go for donnyfl fx airguns model- its same length as tanto- they advertise it as the bigger brother of tanto but its thicker so maybe i can pack more felt inside and play with it that way to make it more quit.. i hope i can disassemble the donnyfl fx airguns same way as you do the tanto and all the rest.. it think i can or else it would make no sense of getting one with felt inside but no option to change the felt..
