Where's all the Crown Shooters

I have to travel a bit to shoot and I haven't found the time to take my Crown out. Have a new scope and a bunch of pellets to utilize when the time comes.

Something's just not adding up to me. There should be way more info out than there is by now. I'm genuinely curious as almost bought one that was in stock at precision a month ago but decided to hold off for the longer term reviews but nothing.

I do agree it is awful strange that FX has no mention of the gun on their website. Normally a company will hype it up.

I am all set up and ready to test my crown. It is on at 50y. I cannot seem to be in town and have a calm shooting day at the same time. You guys are correct on wind and rain slowing things down for shooting here in NC. I will report on my findings when I can get the time with the gun. Forgot too mention, I am tuning for heavies the gun is very very accurate with 25gr.

its odd that fx has no mention of it on their website and maybe they're gearing up for a large media announcement with the next or some later shipment. as for reviews and such, i think the first shipment is just too small a number for a significant amount of feedback although i don't know how many went to other countries. also not everyone is interested in being on or contibuting to forums. as for me, i can attest to its excellent fit, finish and balance but ive only put a dozen or so pellets thru it so can't comment on ballistics.

Maybe with all the issues that the impact had, they may be putting out a "small" number of rifles as a test. If any issues are found they can make corrections before they release the bulk of the rifles.

I know why too!"T3PRanch"Steve posted that it's not the weather keeping the Crown review on hold but rather a request from AOA. Read anything into that you might want to but the only ones who know for sure what is up are FX, Steve and AOA!

As far as FX not having anything on their website, this seems to be the way they are doing things lately. The Impact wasn't on their page for a while either. It'll go up eventually, I'm sure. Wasn't it the same with the Wildcat too?

Got mine. Pretty happy with it in lamanate green. Its a laser with the 25g jsbs, but not so much with the 34s. Going back to the boss for EBR...The crown is not for everyone. If you are not a airgun scientist, buy a royale or boss. They are a lot less frustrating unless you are like me and enjoy the tuning process and don't mind fixing them when they break....they will break.

I would have thought by now these air rifles would have had the "bugs" out of them and sub contractors would be providing top quality.

It's been hot here in central Texas. I finally dragged a little generator out to my shooting shed so I can use a fan.
I'm still shooting mine on the factory settings, which means optimized for the the 25g pellets. I'm hesitant to tinker with it because I'm getting some good results with them. They just don't buck the wind as well. According to the manometer my regulator is set @ 120bar.

I own a gladiator, Boss, Wildcat, Impact and Crown. The Impact and Crown are feats of genius and I applaud FX for having the balls to build them. Most airgun manufacturers would not push the limits and build production guns of this complexity and quality. The Impact and crown are so well made and so precisely made and well built, I'm amazed that they can make them for what they sell them for. Each part of the gun is made of very high quality materials and the precision that they are built with is simply amazing.
If you are not a tuner, then stay away from the Impact or Crown and go to the Wildcat, Royale or Boss. Those guns are tuned specifically to the calibers they are shooting and they shoot VERY well and are very reliable if you do your part to maintain them properly.
The Impact and Crown or more for the airgun afficianado who enjoys squeezing the last bit of accuracy out of the gun and/or want to switch calibers.(This requires retuning). This being the case, the guns have more moving parts, more complex valving systems and as such are somewhat less reliable. Are they awesome?...uhh YES!!!
If I were not competing and did not enjoy the science behind these guns, and I could only have one gun? It would be my wildcat with a hugget. Stupidly accurate, mouse fart quiet, highly reliable, light, high shot count...and last but not least...looks awesome!!!
By the way, I've also owned, Umarex, Hatsan, RWS/Diana, Benjamin, and Evanix. NOTHING compares to FX. You get what you pay for!
Don't get hung up on the Impact/Crown. There are better choices for you if you are not into tuning.

FoxMan. Well said. I agree. Especially about the Wildcat. I believe it's the best grab and go gun FX makes. The part about the Wildcat that doesn't get brought up enough is just how simple, easy and fast the mags are to load. If I had to pick just one gun it would be the Wildcat. Sylvan

Ok gents, I finally got my .25 Walnut Crown out to the 100yd indoor range, which means ideal conditions. Here are my groups using unsorted randomly grabbed JSB 25's. Some of the skirts were pretty gnarly, and my first 5 groups were not this good, but that's normal for me.
One thing I will say is that I really do not like this FX magazine system. It's very clumsy to load, and does not index properly about 20% of the time. Really disappointed compared to the Air Arms magazine system I first used.

Craiger that is great shooting. You must have a magazine problem, I have not one hangup with mine and have shot at least 1500 pellets through it. Have same mags but smaller without any problems for my Bobcat. Once you get used to loading them you never look back. Wish I could look yours over sometimes they need a little filing if pellets are not dropping down into the slots all the way..

Nice shooting Craig. That is pretty impressive. My walnut Royale 500 was a beautiful gun. But it didn't shoot this well. Thanks for sharing.

I only have 3 pcp rifles the Crown being one of them. My first was a Hatsan Gladius then a Leshiy now a Crown. I’m going to do a golf comparison now. For you golfers out there have you ever saved for that new set of clubs to improve your game they arrive and you still suck at golf. Well that’s what I did by getting the Crown except my groups are half the size of what I was shooting before. My groups are under .5 inches consistently at 50 yards.
