Which 12fpe Rifle do you shoot?

Picture 2 - May 8 2023.jpg

Nice looking rifle. I have been researching ten meter target rifles for the purpose of both ten meter shooting and also throwing on a scope and shooting silhouette and plinking. I have read that rifles such as the Anschutz 9015 and the FWB800x with two part receivers can have point of impact shifts as the temperture changes. I guess the problem arises when the scope rings are mounted on both the front and rear parts of the receiver. Is this something that you have heard of or experienced? Thanks,
Kenny

Hi Kenny,
A couple years ago I sent this Anschutz 9015 Black Air 10M rifle to Allen Zasadny who did some of his magic to bump the power level up to where it now shoots the JSB 8.44's @ around 11.2 fpe and the JSB 10.34's @ around 11.8 fpe. It gets over 99 shots per air fill. My Competition Electronics chrono only records a string up to 99 shots and this gun will max that out and still be going like the Energizer Bunny. He built the super quiet shroud for the barrel, installed the foster fill in the air cylinder, mounted the scope & rings for me and this gun is THE most accurate gun I own. AND, the most quiet. When you shoot it all you hear is a click of the trigger, a small puff of air, and then the pellet hitting the target. I could shoot it in the house and no one would know. ;)
In its "stock out of the box" form as a 10M rifle it was easily as loud as a .22 cal rimfire rifle. A BIG NO for residential backyard friendly.
I'm not quoting him here because I don't remember the exact conversation but if I remember right it went along the lines of this 9015 being a newer model than the earlier ones that sometimes had the POI shift issue. I have not experienced this running the Sightron SIII that's on it here in the Arizona weather. I have heard of this issue, but I don't have any experience with it.

Thank you SAZ. I appreciate an insider's opinion and experience. Your rifle sounds really nice. I didn't realize that the ten meter pcp rifles were so loud in stock form. Thanks again,
Kenny

Hi Kenny,
I don't have lots of exposure to many other 10M rifles & 10M pistols but some of the FWB's I've heard have quite a loud "pop" about the same as my Anschutz 9015 did in it's stock 10M form. Hard to explain but it's just a very loud "pop" noise, not a huge bang or.......well, if you ever heard it you'd know it.
I purchased a "Whisper Stick" from MEC that Carel suggested to me but it was pretty ineffective in reducing the noise much. It did lighten my wallet though!

I also have a Steyr LP50-RF pistol and it has a heck of a "pop" as well for a roughly 5 fpe pistol. Even with a moderator adapter and moderator (either DFL Sumo or Weihrauch) on it I'm still a little apprehensive about the noise level for residential backyard use.

Just my ears and my experience but we all have differing tolerances when it comes to sound......

I use a Dreamline in aeron stock and a Brocock xr with a LuthAr adjustable butt, three power levels on both guns on low power Dreamline is adjusted to 11.4 fpe with jsb 8.4 on high it’s shooting 10.65 AA at 882 fps, the Brocock doesn’t have an external reg. but comes from factory with a low power setting of right around 11 fpe with 8.4 and 18.4 fpe with 10 . 65 gr. on high power, the Brocock straight out of the box is a tack driver has been a very reliable gun and very simple to take apart with several videos from Brocock online .
