Which air or scuba tank??

I went to a local welding supply shop where apparently they have a couple hundred tanks they don't use. They are going to haul a 4500psi 5ft tall tank to my house for me, put an adaptor on it and air in it for the cost of the parts. Sometimes it pays to know folks. I suggest people also take some baked goodies to the local firehouse and strike up a conversation. They might just fill your tank for free.

I've been into PCP's for over a decade and have tried every option there is except a hand pump. What has not been emphasized is the difference in weight savings
and convenience of a carbon fiber tank set up over a steel tank. The 106 cfl Luxfer tank filled weighs over 4 times that of a 97cf tank and it is bulkier and much
more of a PITA to lug around. If someone told me I could have a Luxfer for free or I had to pay for a carbon fiber set up from Joe B. or Airhog, I'd take the carbon
fiber. Scuba tanks for air gunners are comparing bricks to feathers. The convenience factor and higher air carrying capacity of carbon fiber in a smaller, lighter tank
makes scuba tanks a drudgery by comparison. The extra cost is well worth it in the convenience it provides.

I purchased a steel 30 minute Scott tank off ebay... it was new never used but built in 2008.. 85 bucks...
I just purchase a used 30 minute Scott SCBA Carbon Fiber tank 55 bucks. looks new.. but said used.. Wow what a difference in weight.. oh my...

I use my Shoebox Freedom 8 to fill both tanks... I have a setup that allows both tanks or one tank hooked to a regulator of my fill station...
Works great and do not have tons of money into tanks...

Although my previous post has been labeled as false, I just contacted my new good friend, Van Jacobi, first owner of Airhog. He states he introduced the carbon fiber tank to the air gunning community 15 years ago. He was the FIRST to offer this tank which has revolutionized the airgunning industry. Prior to the carbon-fiber tank, air rifles could not be filled past 3000 psi. I have found Van to be quite knowledgable, honest, and most helpful. In my 54 years,I have met few with as much integrity as he in any field!

As far as the PCP air rifle industry, Airhog was way ahead of any of it's current competitors in offering the carbon-fiber tank. Van no longer has any invested interest in Airhog, nor does he have anything to gain by lying to me. If this community knew him as well as I have gotten to know him these last few months, we would be doing everything we could to keep him involved in the development of this industry! I have gained a wealth of knowledge in assembling a Falcon pistol, tuning my marauder, and shooting in general due to the generosity of this man. He had nothing to gain but my friendship. It is my misfortune that he will be moving next week. I am partial to Airog because I have gotten to know the man that started the company. I have nothing to gain by this post!
For thoughs who know Van, I would encourage you to reach out to him as he contemplates his next venture.
