Which caliber for Hunting

huntr, well, would really like a Vevor or CS4, but on a budget. I actually just got my hand pump to 6,000 psi. I was surprised how well it worked. I went from 170 bar (2465) to 220 bar (3190) in about 30 pumps. I need the workout too. Maybe some day I'll build the motor/geared/bicycle wheel pump. I found this one guy in Ca that built this attachment for the hand pump, might go that route, check this out, it's total backyard engineering.

PCP Hand Pump Made Easy
I can’t tell you how many times I had a PCP in my cart ready to buy, but I knew I did NOT want to hand pump. Finally I bit the bullet and added a compressor to the cart with the gun and haven’t looked back since.

Heed the adage, ‘Buy once, cry once‘, and get a compressor that can fill a tank. Eventually you will go there. You can be loading magazines while the compressor works. You won’t have time to do much else because it’s that fast.

The CS4 you mentioned will do that. I have one and, so far, it’s been good. I use it to fill guns mostly, because I have another compressor I use for my tank, but I have filled a small tank with it just to see how it would do. There is usually some kind of a discount on their web site, but you can get an extended warranty by going through Amazon.

All the Yong Heng guys will chime in, but the CS4 is already water cooled. Check out some of the ‘contraptions’ the YH owners have for water cooling and then shrink it down to a size you can pick up with one hand and put in your truck and take to the range.

Forget that YouTube thing you posted. 😂

That youtube thing was meant as a bit of humor, it wasn't meant as my next project or a suggestion for others to follow. Unless that's your choice, it's a free Country. Time I get all the steel and hardware together, tig welded and painted, I could have already bought a Compressor. Screw that.

If you are shooting everyday 25-100 a day, get a compressor. Shooting once a week and filling 170 back to 225 is not an issue. Do I want a compressor? You betcha, just not yet, soon young man, soon.
