WHICH COMPRESSOR?

First of all, I am just a casual shooter and I probably don't go through 50 pellets in a week. I use mine primarily for pest control which includes crows, pigeons, small birds and woodchucks. I am shooting an FX Crown in 25 caliber.
I am finally in the market for a compressor. The four I have in mind are the JTS Comp 1, Air Venturi RovAir, Nomad III, and the Benjamine Traveler.
Price wise they run from 500 to 800 dollars. Out of these four I am probably going to make my decision. The only real concern is I have a fairly large tank, (probably like a 94 CU IN) that I would like to be able to fill. I know that this can't be done, or should'nt be done in one session. I figured that if I ran it for 15 minutes at a time that over a while I could top it off. I would in the mean time just fill my rifle with the compressor. Then when I went out to the field I could take my tank along just in case.
I am reaching out to you shooters out there to get your imput and some knowledge. Right now my rifle is fully charged and the last time I charged it was over a month ago. That will give you more of an idea as to my rate of shooting. Again, with a compressor I would hope to do more shooting.
Thanks to all,
Gene from Pa.

I hate to be one of those guys that recommends something not on your list, but I think it warranted here. But I hear absolutely great things about the GX CS-4 compressor from all that have them, and they can fill much bigger tanks than you have all within their duty cycle. And it is in your price range too.

I don't have one myself - I have a ten year old Shoebox unit that works great, but is no longer for sale. I don't expect to ever have to replace it (especially since I bought a second one as a backup a while ago), but if I had to replace it with something available now it would be a GX CS-4 . . . .

And once you have unlimited easy air, you will certainly shoot more!

For filling a tank, I absolutely do not recommend any of the above solutions. I personally own a Ninja 90 cu-in that I fill with my 2018 Daystate LC-110 and the 3rd stage temps measured with FLIR/LWIR are quite hot. I use the same tank to fill a .5L Scuba bottle from empty. The strain and duty cycle, under load, to fill a large tank compared to compressor size, to 4500 PSI is a great feat. I strongly recommend you oversize the compressor and undersize the load.

The GX CS4 would do everything you want it to do, but the others can fill a larger tanks using an incremental fill like you described. I would recommend getting a one way valve to put in line, this will prevent back pressure from the tank feeding back to the compressor creating a load the compressor would need to overcome. Something like this from Best Fittings is what I use.

With this you don't necessarily need a compressor like the GX CS4 and could manage very well with one of the compressors you are looking at. Having said that, you may want to compare the specs to one of the other compressors GX Pumps offers. As previously mentioned, many of these compressors are mechanically very similar, and you could end up paying a premium just for a name. The GX Pumps CS series have proven to be very durable and reliable.

I sethat Amazon has this compressor for sale. Probably get it there. Is there any other place that you airgunners may consider? I havent seen it for sale like places like pyramid air, airguns of utah, etc...
Amazon, Walmart, or from their offical site are the places to get a GX new.

Refurbs are on Ebay. All the above new and Ebay refurbs from BBSSGLLC have US support too.

I really like the idea of the one-way valve, no need to equalize the pressure in the compressor to match the tank before opening the valve, correct? Anybody sell that valve in the US?

I see that the Valve is about $40 American. Could be worth it!
It’s absolutely worth it. I get my tank that I’m going to fill, put the valve, open the tank valve and just connect the compressor and start running it. Once the compressor pressure goes above the tank pressure the valve opens. Simple. To remove bleed both sides

Exactly like the filling the bottle on the gun for the most part. I ordered the parts off Amazon.
