Skip - What class will you be shooting in?
Daystate stocks are all beautiful pieces of walnut, but are hunter designs, with a rounded forend, so great if you are in hunter class shooting off sticks, but not so good for open, WFTF or unlimited (in US). If you need an adjustable forend (hamster) or butt hook, it will not be easy to mount these to your stock (ask me, I know).
Another consideration is whether you are prepared to shoot an unregulated gun in FT, where you need high accuracy over 60 or 72 shots. I shoot a Daystate Huntsman Regal, and while its capable of better than 1/2" groups at 50 yds, you have to stay within the flat part of the sling shot curve to achieve this, which would be a pain for FT. You could of course add a regulator, and if you are shooting 177 at 12 ft/lbs this would be much less of an issue.
I'm using an AirWolf 0.22 set at 19 ft lbs for FT. Its a masochistic exercise, because although the gun is very accurate, with a very reproducible and long shot string, the stock is fra from ideal for FT. I don't have a good cheek weld with the scope and rings I'm using (Sightron SIII 10-50 x60 FX no limit rings), and I'm currently working on getting a hamster installed to shoot in open class.
The bottom line: I'm a huge Daystate fan, and own a couple of their rifles, and although its possible to score well, but there may be better options for FT.
If you already know all of this apologies for the long respone.
