I would like to know what kind of hour meter I need for my Air Venturi air compressor? I need to put one on it, because I can barely remember how old I am. I know I can't keep up with how many hours I put on it. Thanks for any help.
Im not sure i would want to screw around with the wires because i don't trust myself. I keep a logbook with the compressor at all times and fill it out every time. If you figure out a good timer i can attach without cutting wires please let me know.
On a side note I just did my first oil change at about 7 hours and glad I did. When I drained the old oil it came out with a blue tint. The oil I put in was not blue. Im assuming it was the crappy oil they put in to keep it from rusting so Im glad it has been flushed out. This time I put in a synthetic blend compressor oil and it ran cooler than before. Good luck.
Thanks for the tip on the oil change. I have four bottles of compressor oil, so i'll run it for a couple of hours and change it. I guess I could keep a log but I would probably lose the log book.
You can purchase the wireless vibration activated type hour meter from Ebay for about $20. I use these on my lathe and mill machine to track usage and I have one on my portable generator.
I did look into using a vibration hour meter and some have had good luck with them and some said they would never buy one again. So, i'm on the fence about getting one. I would prefer a hard wired meter, but if I can't get direction on how to wire one, that will probably be my only option.
