I'm about to change the brass transfer port on one of my Impact barrels. All I have on hand is the #242 blue Loctite for the threads. I think it will be ok, or should I get something else. What did you guys use?

#242 blue is fine for most everything. Never ever use red. You'll need a torch to remove it. I've used other types for very specialized cases like green on gas powered RC helicopters and purple on a Campagnolo bicycle crank. For an pcp rifle blue should be fine.

Just changed my transfer port and had to heat it up to get it apart. There is a reason FX uses epoxy, so use red.

In another thread a couple of posters recommended Vibra-Tite VC-3 due to its ability to absorb vibration.

Considering the size of most fasteners in an ag you can use a soldering iron to break most types of threadlock. Though I'm not so sure how well it would work on a thimble or shroud.
