Last days I have been choosing which PCP will be taken on the 7th of December to the first deer hunting of the year.
I wanted to install a regulator on my Evanix Windy City .357 Cal, and therefore I ordered a bottle regulator for Brocock from Huma and to be sent at 170 bar.
After some work I have it dully installed and with no leaks.
The rifle is very accurate and gives near to 15 exact shots at 752 fps. That's about 100 fpe with JSB Hades. I would like to have 850 fps, but no way. Maybe the plenum is too small.
My other .357 PCP rifle is a Jager. This one is shooting the JSB Hades at 908 fps. Perfect. But only gives 3 reliable shots.
Another topic is that after a hunting session, the Evanix does not need to be fired. The Jager needs to be fired.
I am of the idea, up to now, that I will bring with me the Evanix.
In .30 Cal I made a super combination: Sidewinder + .357 suppressor, plus a prismatic sight. The Sidewinder is shooting the JSB Hades 44.5 are 1000 fps, that means 100 fpe. The sight makes it to be light weight and easy to aim quickly.
I am also thinking about to take with me the Vulcan 3 700 mm .25 Cal. That one is giving 77 fpe with NSA 33.9 slugs.
Many thinking, many shots and many practice in order to feel comfortable.
And then:
Yesterday I went with my son to the shooting range in order to confirm that my 30-06 and his .243 are dully zeroed at 220 yards.
The power of the firearms is other science. With just 6 shots and shooting up to 350 yards, we are super confident that the rifles are just as we want them to be.
