Crosman Who recall returned their crosman icon? (Or - crosman really takes care of their customers.)

I picked up the icon during the year end sale when they had that screaming deal. Well, as we know it was recalled due to the possibility of firing with a good bump when the gun was uncocked. I was on the fence about returning it, but went ahead and did so anyways as I've got enough pcps to go around and don't need something that's a potential hazard.

I get a call from crosman today, telling me they received my gun, and would be issuing a refund check for $200. Considering they had no reason to give me anything extra I was pleasantly surprised. Way to go crosman! This sort of customer service deserves kudos.

So who else here returned their icon and did you get the same great treatment?

Initially I was going to return mine; but I decided against it. The recall issue didn't warrant me returning such a fine shooting gun. I don't see the concern of an UNCOCKED and LOADED gun accidently firing if bumped or dropped as being an issue for ME personally.

The price for the last year's end sale was $129.
Why are they refunding $200 ?

I don't think the issue warrants me to return my Icon. Besides that, I have way to much fun blasting targets to even want a full refund.

Same, was asked what I paid, said 130 and he rounded up or 200$. Got the check a week later.

Was told with agreement made with CPSC they had to be destroyed.

From my discussion with crosman the guns needed to be destroyed. So no fix and return option was available. To be frank the gun was sort of janky so I will take the win on free money and a free additional space in the arsenal.

These are standard terms for a recall. The insurance company is paying the claim. They won't want liability for a recalled product, and so into the furnace the rifles go.
I applaud Crosman for how they handled this and will think highly of them as a result, and purchase their products again.
