Then walked back and took a few extra " pot" shots at a old card under the 75y trap

Not bad for sub 200 Walmart shooting. 😉

I'm finding lately that it all comes down to the trigger release for me. I say release because I try not to really pull. If I concentrate on feeling like I'm pulling the trigger straight back into my thumb while thinking about both of them pointing at the x then I can still it almost every time. Has this practice card the other day. My best ever.

Very nice target. What distance?

That has been my conclusion but I want to be sure. I've seen it with two different scopes and it seems unlikely they're both bad. I am looking for a benchrest scope that will withstand the hw97. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Preferably under $500.
I shoot both Hawke and /or Sightron STacs. This is on a Diana 54 in.22, TX200 .177, and a pair of D75s. Many thousands of shoots, zero scope issues using Burris Signature rings with inserts. They soak up the vibration that can cause problems plus allow you to pre zero the scope with them before cranking on the turrets. Oops, exception is the TX200, it has had regular Sprotsmatch rings for all its roughly 10,000 or more shots. Very important to use a tourge wrench on all scope screws. I do 25 or 30 inch pounds on bases and 17 inch pounds on rings.

I made it. It's PVC clay.

I used modeling clay for a mock up to see exactly what I needed. Then got a lump of PVC clay and formed it.

Here is the clay. You can get it in any color and mix it to get any pattern. I used flesh colored clay because that's what I had. After it's baked it gets solid. I profiled the finished shoe with 120 grit paper and sprayed it with flat black to match the stock.

Easy as pie and fits the rifle like a new set of dentures. Weighs next to nothing.

I've made dozens of these for semi auto pistols and revolvers. Rifle grips too. It's the cats meow. Your hands work it into a perfect fit. When you grab the rifle it feels like a new pair of shoes and your finger lays on the trigger in the same spot always.
I've found that for projects that require spray paint, I will use a clear matte enamel over it and this will keep the paint from chipping, wearing or whatever. I used it on my prosport cocking arm after blackening it with aluma black and it holding up nice.

Do you glue it on the grip?

The wind (USA all the way) dang it Mac will you buy a semi load of the gamos and make them as accurate as yours. You will be a millionaire in no time! What is so different from yours compared to most other gamo owners? Maybe I’m missing something by not owning one.

The profile is 120. The paint is cheap flat black spray paint. It won't chip off. It's way too thin and all tangled up in that coarse profile.

It may wear off in spots but I'm really not concerned about it. If it bothers me I'll make it out of a lump of black clay next time.

I get mine at Lowes. $2.50 a can. It's actually good paint and more in a can than $8 Krylon.

If any black rubs off on my hands it will mix with the dirt and beer to create a protective coating impervious to the elements.

It fits perfectly and (I think) it looks great. They have worked fantastic for me and my spooky friends over the years. It will vastly improve a highly figured laminated stock with intricate checkering and a dazzling finish that has $h!t ergonomics (which is most of them).

I know that it isn't the type of thing for a rifle that has its own web page and Facebook account. But lots of guys that use their weapons daily swear by them. For an air rifle that requires a steady uniform hold they are perfect.

Ya, sadly Walmarts was .89¢ then went to 2.89 cause it was able to build back better . No lie ... It's true ..🤤

I have a 3" wide block on the forend of the gun which is a snug fit in a quality bag with slippery fabric on it. I modified my stock so both the block and the rear end of the stock are parallel to the barrel. The rear bag is also a close fit to my stock. The gun just slides straight back though you sill have to be super careful with the trigger.

That's great shooting a long way out. That ugly old Gamo shoots like a champ. I'm always amazed at how far these rifles will shoot as well as your ability to shoot one.

I don't shoot a lot of paper. But shotgun shells at 75 with the scope are a regular. 50 yards with open sights. I cant hit them every shot. And I toss a few into the corn figuring out the perfect windage and elevation. But it's amazing how close you can put them in there once you have the "spot".

I hit a crunched up beer can last night at 70 yards about 25 shots in a row with the Cometa. The 90 yard target was a camping propane bottle and the rifle will hit it every doggone time. You can't miss a shotgun shell head until it passes the 50 yard line.

I became emotionally overwhelmed that a budget gun could place pellets that close together that far out. I had to calm myself down. I was palpating. It was kind of like sex but different.

These air rifles that often don't appeal to the larger "airgun crowd" are no joke. They are accurate, easy to shoot and available to anyone who can stack a couple hundred frogskins on the table.

Ya, a guy don't need to spend thousands to shoot good and fun .. that gamo turns 6 or 7 years old soon ..

I was testing pellet sorting this morning and the HW97 was fantastic. I was shooting from a rest. Top row was sorted pellets, the bottom row was the rejects. Both were pretty good but the sorted ones were a little more precise with fewer flyers.

25 yards, three shot groups so I could see all the shots.
