 I had known this rabbit was roughly 10 yards past my 40 yard stump. It came back as 52 yards from where it lay to the banister I was steadied on.

RWS 52 .25 TO1 H&N FTT 20.14@700fps. John Thomas tuned over 10 years ago. Springer is shown at end of clip.

I don't "hunt" anymore for meat. Use to go for Whitetail.

I would varmint hunt, pest, possibly archery for Turkey or Whitetail if one of my children has a desire to learn. 
This guy in the video had just been after my strawberries and giving my old dog something to roll in. He had to go. He did, & then he fed the local foxes or Coyotes. 
Just had to show everyone what a good springer can do! 😊
 
its a good feeling to take down a desrructive pest like that for sure, sounds like a decent gun ..i know some higher end ones are if theyre tuned etc .. just generally though, to buy a springer for a real pest problem isnt going to be effective .. i literally couldnt grow a garden and things were running off with my chickens faster than i could replace them lol .. until mr marauder showed up ..it was a game changer ..

I agree Dizzums. If a big pest problem, more is needed. 
But, the only reason I even took that shot is I target shoot for groups with the springers & know their paths. No problem with leaks, regs, spread, etc. 

Once you know a good springers trajectory like on that one, I can pretty much call shots to 80+ yards with it on English Sparrows. 
It's scoped now. Maybe I'll film some quarter sized 5 shot 75 yard groups. 

Just have to keep the love alive for the springer🤗

I have specialized in refining iron sights on my springers. That 52's are stock believe it, or not; but 2 quick points.

I made a shot one day I couldn't believe. My then 9 year old girl was outside with me. I had my old trusty D48 .177 tuned again, by John Thomas. 
I asked her if she saw a bird on the ground at 72 yards. She said yeah. I said watch him. 

I didn't think it was going to happen. Again rested on that banister, iron sights. I held over what I thought to be enough for a body shot. He dropped.

When we walked up, that 10.5 CPHP had literally taken just the top of its head off, exposing his little bird brain. I couldn't repeat that shot with any rig & a scope lol. She thinks I'm "the best." LOL!

And 2nd point, is very fine. My R1 .22 front insert.

Point is, springers, definitely can.

My eyes are getting older also though. I need reading glasses. Can't see my own fingerprints unless 1.5ft from my face. So scopes aren't shunned like they use to be.
