I have not had any luck with these at any speeds out of any rifle I've tried them in. Overhyped or not?
Who thinks zan br100 are overhyped and arent the magic people make them to be?

Well that depends on what "weight and head/skirt consistency" they are made to, and packaged up and sent off to customers year after year. It is not advertised what the spec is either. I'd say being within .2 tenths of a grain in weight would be a good and easy standard to meet for weight. When the Hades in .30 caliber first came out the pellets in the tins were within .2 tenths of a grain. Not worth the time sorting. Now, they are not as consistent; being +- a grain, which is a big change when simply pulling random pellets from a tin. Hades' weight change could be from mixing everything from the different machines into a common bucket and then packaging or manufacturing die wear, but either way I have to sort them by weight now to keep up with consistency.

It would be interesting to see what particular guns and barrel twist rates these tend to fly best out of. They are a longer and heavier pellet, so they probably want a different twist rate, and possibly an unchoked barrel, than is common.

Feed JSB 44.75s to my three 700mm .30s, Wildcat MK3 shoots best, next Uragan 2, Vulcan 3, not at all. Why AGT guns, both unchoked, handle JSBs differently, is not known, though suspect U2's balanced valve plays a part. Delivery of BR100s due 11/28, testing to follow. WM

I weighted a tray of them (77) the lightest 1 was 55.92 and the heaviest was 56.02 almost all were 55.96. Shooting them from a 600mm FX Maverick at 844fps with the 1/40 twist. Zan said they get the best BC from the slow twist barrel. I'm using. .059 for the BC and it seems right on.

Preliminary testing complete, Uragan 2 and Vulcan 3 don't group this pellet, FX Wildcat MK3 Sniper, does. Wildcat is MK3 "Second Variation," single AMP reg, needs stock removal to adjust, tube reservoir. Shoots JSB 44.75 @ 851 FPS, SD 4.2 with Reg @150, Power Wheel maxed @7. Target (50 yd.) shows (3) JSB 44.75 in top group, (3) ZANS BR100 (56 grain) in lower. No chronograph work completed but impressed. WM

Hope so, too, for your sake. Very interested FPE for BR100s, out of Wildcat, sitting at 71.7 for JSB 44.75, would be nice to be closer to 75, maybe 80? Back outside for testing, WM

If they are moving at 700 theyre at 60 fpe, if 800 that will be just under 80 fpe.
To be honest, if they are the old batch I am going to be terribly disappointed. IMO that is terrible business to acknowledge a problem with your product enough to completely change a process and label new from old yet leave the retailers stuck with junk, which in turn leaves the end user with junk. I already know how upset im going to be if I get home and they do not have that badge.

To be fair Zans never actually admitted to me that there was a problem with the v1 pellets. They claimed they just worked better in some barrels than others as was proved by a few who won competitions with them. Quite a cop out as far as I am concerned. The fact they wouldn't reimburse those who bought 10+ boxes of crap ammo was even worse.
They had one .25 slug that worked great in one gun/barrel combo. Then all of a sudden the next batch didn't. Zans said they had made a change but were changing back. How can I get this new old style batch. Oh - we're shipping them out to dealers in our next shipment. So how will I know that I am getting the newest batch? Dealers will be getting the newest batches soon. Yeah, just no, my business ethic works very differently than that.
I do hope the v2 do better in most barrels and speeds, but my opinion of Zans is pretty low right now and they have not earned my money.

Chronograph reflects 780 FPS, SD 5.9, 75.6 FPE. So, figuring stock Wildcat MK3 Sniper "2nd Variation," maxed out to power, can gain few more FPE with these pellets, can recognize the value. WM

I have a stack of boxes of these BR100's from when they first came out that do not have a sticker on them either. The company is probably using the sticker to keep the individual sealed trays separated now. I say this because the .253 38 grain slugs I just received do have a sticker on them designating size and weight.
I just weighed 15 randoms out of a BR100 package and they were all within .2 tenths of a grain so they are as advertised. The scale is constantly being verified for consistency with other pellets and slugs of varying pre-sorted weights, including re-testing these.

It's not the weight that's the issue. It was a cleaning process issue. He should have pulled all those packages back. Can't leave this on the retailer to deal with.

Exactly this. I had a whole bunch of the v1 and the weight variance was very good.
I have a few boxes with the 2.0 written on them. That's my pic _CTAIRGUNNER_ posted above with the label. They are definitely different from the v1 as the v2 fit much snugger in my Leshiy2 magazines.

Uragan 2 and Vulcan 3 owners, wishing to try ZANS BR100 .30 pellets, will experience magazine loading problems. The pellets are long and jam magazine but can be single fired by placing just one in magazine. If single fire results are successful, research kits to modify magazines for longer projectiles. FX Wildcat MK3 magazine handled BR100s without issue. WM

After my correspondence with Zan this morning I do not foresee myself shooting any of his product. Only thing I will shoot is the melted down 56 br100 as they make their way to slugs for my slayer.
People have tried to show him scope cam footage of his product coming out of the liners etc he says they work beautifully in and the speed and everything he suggests and he has every excuse in the book as to why its the end users fault. I don't like that. We work hard and pay good money to enjoy this hobby, the end user shouldn't be your research and development.
Maybe that's why certain airgun manufacturers remain small and continue to put out a top notch product as they are thorough as can be.
