I made no assumptions I answered a question based on my needs/wants and my equipment costs. I didnt post my reply to answer the question for anyone but myself. So I didnt exclude anyone and if someone only has enough money to buy a $70 multi pump airgun and the cheapest pellets they can find I say good for them and get out and enjoy the sport regardless of what they can or will spend. The assumptions are way off base. Not everyone has a PCP or $1,000 or more wrapped up in a rifle. That doesn't exclude them from enjoying the airgun community.
There are all levels and all budgets .
People have replied and its obvious they do sweat the price but thats ok my reply was based on my situation and wasnt meant to speak for anyone but myself. I am opposite of you in that I would feel foolish if I didnt use the most accurate pellet even if it was 15 yds. I have one tin of crosman pellets I used in my multi pump. I dont even grab that tin when I get a new pcp. I already know jsb or h&n will be the pellet that gives me best accuracy and 99% of the time its jsb. Thats just my opinion and I dont worry about what other people shoot and I am not about to tell them they need to shoot a different pellet.@LDP, I don't believe anyone "worries about" or "sweats" pellet prices or where to buy them... It's a hobby for most. It depends on how the buyer is using said pellets. I once used up two tins of AAs pellet shooting roosting starlings at night. I felt foolish afterwards because all those sub 20 yard shots could have been handle by pellets 1/3rd the cost of the AAs... Now the bulk of my pesting or plinking is with CPHPs... Because they work, the price? Just an added bonus.

I feel you about the less fortunate and some people dont even get the chance to enjoy our sport or firearms as a hobby. Some can only justify the cost to put meat on the table or plink/ kill paper sparingly because the costs involved. I am very lucky to be able to enjoy the sport in the way I do and theres some who spend much more money than I do. I wouldnt ever snub a less fortunate person over anything and I have been on that side of the coin of not being able to spend money for leisure activities or hobbies. Sorry for the misunderstanding thinking you pointed a finger at me. I wasnt upset about it but I dont want to be misunderstood and have someone think I am being a jerk or anything like that.Sorry, I wasn't singling you out. I can see how you interpreted it that way with my $1,000 example. Your first sentence stated you understood why other people may not hold your opinion
I was commenting on the whole tone of the thread. I also buy the pellet with the best accuracy.
I am probably just oversensitive to those who are economically disadvantaged, and don't want anyone to feel ...blah blah blah. Nevermind, I'm to much of a cheerleader.
Yes life is short and I have learned to not worry about some things and enjoy everything each day that I can how ever I can.I humbly submit that whatever a citizen endeavors to do that's lawful, moral and does not infringe upon his fellow citizens in anyway, is permitted them. Simply we are all free within our own individual pursuit of happiness, where ever we may find it on GOD's green earth. The life granted is way too short, spent worrying about nickels & dimes for tomorrows, that one may never see friend...

Not a dig at all and I am not ignorant to the fact some people have to pay attention to that cost because they dont have spare cash or just want to spend that spare cash other ways. Not sure where you think I am casting shade on anyone for stating that some people are sweating the price. I never said it was a bad thing or any kind of negative attitude towards anyone. "Most accurate pellet"? "For what"? I didnt think that needed so much explanation to understand. Most accurate as in the pellet that shoots the best with the tune I want from the particular rifle. Killing a rat at 15 yds or punching paper at 100 yds has nothing to do with it. The pellet is either the most accurate at that tune or its not. I thought that was pretty simple to understand. If the less sweaty crosmans work for you great I never said you or anyone shouldnt make that decision for yourself. The "sweating the price" dig is unnecessary... Most accurate pellet? For what? Everything? For killing rats at 15-20 yards? The less sweaty Crosmans get it done. For shooting pigeons or starlings out to 100 yards? Not so much... There the premium pellets show their worth. Just like we have different guns for different situations, so with pellets.
You seem to be totally missing what I am saying and quite frankly sounds like you are looking for an argument when there is no argument. My statements in this thread have nothing to do with YOU or YOUR choices in pellet selection or reasons for pellet selections or changing to different pellets for a given task. I never said YOU need to shoot x pellet or anyone else for that matter. This thread asked individuals a question I answered that question with my choices and why I make that choice and never at any point said my choice and opinion was to be followed by anyone else. I never said it takes the same level of accuracy to kill a rat at 15 yds as is does to compete in br50 or benchrest YOU DID. my statement was that I personally only shoot the most accurate pellet for MY tune in that rifle regardless of shooting a rat at 15 yds or punching paper at 100 yds and for ME it doesnt matter what type of shooting I am doing I will always shoot the best pellet. That should be clear as day if not then move along and argue for the sake of arguing with someone else this thread does not need to be derailed for lack of comprehending.@LDP, your pardon... Ignorant to the fact? I thought it was understood that you don't need the same level of accuracy to shoot rats as you do for BR50 or Extreme Benchrest. That is a fact. I use to shoot hundreds of rats with JSB Exact Jumbo 18s. Transitioned to the Crosmans because they get it done at a much cheaper price. For target shooting I still shoot the JSBs... It's not about saving money, I'm just not going to waste premium pellets on vermin.
No worries. My apologies to you or anyone else who took any of my comments in a negative way that was not my intentions.@LDP, I guess I missed the point, no argument with you... But using words like "ignorant", "sweat", "lack of comprehension" in general to make your points?
I should have said that I do buy pellets based on price, depending on what I'm shooting those pellets at. My apologies if I communicated it poorly.
