Who’s the King of 100?

Scott...the last 4-5 lanes on the right at Rio are complete poop if the wind is coming from the right....which it does a lot. You will have massive up and downs that you cannot account for. Its frustrating even at 25m. There are poopty lanes at every range, but sometimes they are not always the same. Its accepted practice at big events to rotate so everyone gets a chance to shoot the good and the bad. There are also spots at ranges that they call honey holes....meaning that the wind is very sheltered and you can have a much easier time than the rest. There is no need to argue about the existence of the good and bad....as they are real things and the very reason that bench rotation and multiple card aggs (the more the better) were put in place long ago by folks that care to find the actual best shooter.

Mike

2021 was my first EBR. My two 75yd qualifying rounds were shot from bench 40 (last bench on far right). It was not all that windy, but swirling with little consistency. I did not qualify for the final round but I was not really disappointed as I was shooting a 20fpe .177 and did not have high expectations

I also shot the 50 yard bench rest at EBR and hoped to do better in that with the .177. I got the lane on the far left for that match (all cards), and it seemed even worse.

I accept the fact that at shooting matches (especially matches like this), luck can go either way and it all balances out in the long run.

We are trying to make a concrete decision on the addition of 100y pellet to the N50 nationals right now. We can keep the 50y targets low and, if needed, can raise the 100y a touch. The 100y stands are 4ft wide…so the target would also be 4ft wide and have a vertical column of sighters on each side. Probably use the ASA target specs (like RMAC)….but use the 10 ring as the X, 9 ring as the 10, etc. If someone wants to compare their score, they can do so easily. This would be a 6 card tournament with 3 cards shot each day like the other N50 classes.

If this is something you want to see happen, please say so here.

It’s the N50 nationals that will be considering adding a 6 card 100y event. It’s primarily a N50 event with people mostly attending to shoot N50. Rimfire and slug (if anyone even wants to shoot them at 100) would not be competing directly with pellet guns. It would be like the pellet and sportsman class. I guess I don’t really get your objection.

From throughout this thread this is the first I’m reading about turning this concept “King of the 100” into what now appears to be a N100 competition “pellet and sportsman class”. I see this as major change in direction from what we’ve discussed (what I’ve understood) .

I have no idea where someone is reading into something that is not there. Mike asked if folks would be interested in a 100y pellet match at this years N50 Nationals.

Since N50 allows rimfire it would make sense to me that if any of those folks wanted to give it a go it's there for them. He also stated they would not be counted in the results.

Why is it difficult to comprehend, it is not N100

Regards,

Joe
