This is always an impossible question to answer. And the answer changes over time.
At this point in time I would want it to format these parameters...
Light to mid weight.
Pistol/stock conversion.
Semi or bolt with magazine.
.22 or .25 caliber

I like the simple and reliable thing too!
Would have be my HW97 in .20 cal.
Really hold this one in high regard and has served me very well through the years. On the other hand if it were a PCP then I'm going .20 cal again! Lol
My Daystate Regal is the most reliable PCP I've ever owned.
In all reality it would be a hard choice and one I hope I never have to make

I’ve only owned 3 adult air rifles. An RWS 45 I bought back in the 80s, still going strong. An HW 30 that I liked but was a little light so I gave it to my boys. Then a few years ago I bought an FWB 300S. It was the most incredibly accurate rifle I’ve ever owned so it’s the one.

I have some nice pcps and as tough a choice it would be I'd choose the condor .25 cal if we're talking be all end all. Easily serviced, repaired. To me, from a utilitarian stand point. Hard to beat. Plus going along with the first post/question. If times were tough, all my other pcps would garner more funds.

My Taipan Vet standard would be the one . 32 fpe , accurate , great trigger , never had a problem and it showed up tuned for 18gr . Just a great pesting and hunting pcp .

While both the TAIPANS are excellent, a Longer rifle is more universally easier to shoot accurately IMO
