BRK Ghost that is!

The Carbine, Plus and HiPower caters for models from 12ft/lb up to 95ft/lb outputs, each boasting 20-level main power adjustment and fast-swap interchangeable .177, .22, .25 and .30 calibre barrels. And there's even more - from butt to muzzle - making a BRK Ghost everything you want a rifle to be!

I wanted to replace some guns of mine with Ghosts but that isn’t going to happen. I can’t find a plus in .25 and pound for pound and inches for inches they just don’t match up with an Impact power wise. Bummer.
If you can't get the power you want from the Ghost, try the new Uragan 2. Matches the Impact power wise...

While the Ghost and Impact certainly aren’t pageant winners, the Uragan was severely beaten with an ugly stick. I know they are just tools and that gun is good, but I just can’t own one. It looks like a Mutt. A combo of two different breeds.

All is in the eye of the...beholder !

Good thing that not everyone's the same isn't it ? Be pretty freaking boring otherwise.

Just my opinion, but it doesn't seem to me that BRK and parent company Daystate are chasing the big FPE nor slug side of the market. Perhaps their history as British companies has something to do with that...

I've got no insight on the .25, but have played plenty with one as a 19fpe .177 Carbine and as a 45-50fpe .22 HP and both configurations are really enjoyable (accurate, ease of use, repeatability, handling/ergos, shot count, etc). But I will point out that I'm a pellet guy and my Ghost joy has come from shooting pellets.

So, if BIG rimfire-type power (slugs?) is the desire, then you're probably right, Ghost may not be the one for you. As Mike said a couple posts ago, different strokes for different folks (paraphrased).

The thing that I question is why no .25 in a plus. Is it a British thing or doesn’t it produce enough power to move .25 pellets in that configuration? A Taipan standard in .25 has no problem moving heavy pellets in that short package. Tons of them sell. I needed a replacement .25 pellet shooter so I wound up with a Krait when I caught wind there was not going to be a .25 in the BRK mid size gun. A little extra power that you may or may never use is not asking too much in a $2k gun. It is 2023 now.

I have the same question.

The .25 HP seems to exist....sorta.....

But as you originally noted, "out of stock, call for availability."

Has anybody called AOA to inquire about a .25 HP? Sometimes their website isnt as up to date as their sales staff.

I don't know what sort of power a .25 HP puts out, but related to your comment about it being 2023....not everybody is chasing big power. I've got a gun in the rotation right now that is a 150fpe monster that we're trying to tame down to under 100fpe to be XFT legal (not a Ghost) and while it's cool and my initial sessions with it have been enjoyable, it just doesn't hit the happy button for me quite like the 50fpe and down stuff. Truth be told, I'm happiest @ just under 20fpe. Just an example that not everybody WANTS or NEEDS the big fpe. I've seen a handful of guys say they chased "slug glory" and ended up selling all that stuff and settling back on low fpe pellets, and finding airgun nirvana again.

Ultimately, to each their own. Buy and shoot what you enjoy (when it's not listed as out of stock 😬).

I can tell you I shot the NRL-22X match weekend before last (Usery Pass X Match at Rio Salado). The second place Airgun division shooter was using a .22 Ghost HP shooting ZAN 30.5 grain slugs at 990 fps. Accurate and powerful. I think we had about 13 airgunners out of 80 total. The winner was only slightly ahead of the Ghost and he was shooting a .22 Panther. Third place was a .25 Delta Wolf slugger…

I don‘t want an out of stock HP, I wanted a nonexistent Plus in .25. The biggest caliber a Plus comes in is a .22.
My apologies, you were talking power and my brain went straight to HP, even though you specified the Plus. Again, sorry for not paying better attention.

Very interesting though, that there's not a Plus length gun in .25.....Delta/Alpha Wolf barrels are straight drop-ins....so there could be an eventual option there ....I kinda wonder if they can't keep up with demand. Looking at that BRK Facebook group there's guys in England getting guns, but plenty of them on wait lists too. Also interesting that the .177 Plus on AOA website says it has a 17inch barrel. That's same length as the Carbine, meaning the plus in .177 just has a longer shroud and bigger bottle. From my quick little perusal, seems all Delta/Alpha/Ghost barrels are either 17 or 23 inches long.

I wouldn't be surprised if the config you're interested in is eventually available, once back-orders, etc are all filled.

Sounds like they've got more power potential than demonstrated by what I've been reviewing. The review Ghost specimen I've had since Sept is a bit of an oddity, as it was originally a .177 Carbine with the 12 FPE UK hammer....so not the greatest example to be using for the type of power the platform is capable of. @Arzrover recently figured out that there's a hammer debounce system in the nose of the rear sub-assembly that we think is probably why the Ghost in my possession was struggling to make power. I've been so happy with how it shoots the .22 MRDs @ 50fpe that I haven't investigated that possibility yet.

Hi, Its just due to the factory only having 23".25 barrels for the Alpha/Delta Wolf and Ghost. the difference between the performance of a .22 and .25 in a 17 inch barrel is almost nothing, while the difference is much more noticeable in 23" - so that’s what we offer. Daystate still offer a .25 in 17" and 23" for Red Wolf and Wolverine, but nearly everyone goes for the longer barrel.

If a Plus in .22 and a Plus in .25 will both shoot a common pellet weight for the caliber at 900fps, that’s 13fpe difference. That’s not almost nothing. Unless a .25 Plus just won’t do it without a crazy high reg setting. Then it makes sense not to produce a Plus in anything bigger than a .22.
