Why do folks keep bring back old dead threads?

By the theory of banning old post revival then there is no need for a forum at all . Every bit of information already exists online. Most times i like reading the posts to see what the answer is and also opinions are. After time opinions and methods change. There are also alot of new members with new thoughts. I try not to judge a peticular topic by one sole post but more af a collaboration of thought and ideas. And sometimes just seeing a older post gets my noodle thinking of other things i havent thought of

It is a bit frustrating, like repeated questions about the same.
On another topic forum i have lost count on how many times i have replied to questions about the same in the past 10 -15 years, and i am not talking 3-4 lines,,,, Ooooo no i am talking thorough wall of text replies every god damn time, CUZ i like to do things right and empower people to make informed decisions.

Really these i should probably bookmark ,and then just do a copy / paste job,,,,,,,, but that just dont feel right, or feel like people i complain a whole lot about.

I was going to wait 2 years to respond, but....

I think that in some cases it's a service. If I search for "tuning XXX for YYY" and get a reasonable search result, why pollute the pool with a new threadt? Tack your question, observation, or innovation on to the existing thread and you've improved the efficacy of search for everyone. I'm more annoyed by the opposite: "How do I XXX with my YYY" when there's a huge thread of information on YYY already. I'm not going to give any examples, because I don't want to pick on new Leshiy 2 owners.

Now sometimes it's a "junk" comment - but that's not really an issue of resurrecting old threads, it's an issue of making junk comments. And let's face it - we all do it sometimes. I try not to (just as I try not to engage in arguments), but sometimes it ... just ... happens.
