Tuning Why does this Artemis P18 suck so bad?

At least it looks like yours groups better than this other review guy's video. Must be totally normal get these kind of groups I guess...

Start from 10:00...

https://youtu.be/tShiG3yFuUs

Note pay attention to the first group he filmed where the stray pellets land to the upper left and middle left outside the target and he doesn't even measure the WHOLE group and missed the lower 2 that he edited out in the recording busted a second almost gonna show measuring the 1 of the 2 on the bottom that openned it up even more.

The raving YouTube reviews that never seem to throw any negativity I call that's HOLLYWOOD. Good paid actors just doing their job don't hate they are just doing their HOLLYWOOD JOB. YOU GET PAID WITH FREE MERCHANDISE OF COURSE YOU HAVE TO DO WHAT YOU GET PAID TO DO OTHERWUSE NO MORE FREE STUFF RIGHT?

NATE on the other hand DEFINITELY shows and tells it like it REALLY is! That's 4sure! Hats off to ya Nate! I actually no B.S. believe all of your reviews!

Check the crown for damage/burrs, make sure everything is tight on the scope (mounts, rail, etc), try single loading for now to make sure pellets arent being damaged, clean the barrel for sure. Their cheap guns, qa in those type of manufacturers are awful. Also, not sure how the barrel is mounted but make sure its tight too.

I'll have to check for burrs. Everything else looks good. I cleaned it before I shot it with a crown saver. I checked all my pellets. It's a single shot gun. Fortunately I can see the end of the barrel with the LDC off.

Does this crown look bad?

in the second photo, I see land damage about 1/4" back inside, typical SPA barrel lottery loser,

I have zero respect for SPA failure to correct this ever continuing problem, I vote with my wallet, no more SPA for me

3” groups that close isnt tuning. Ditto on crown!!

That is a crappy barrel. At 1/2 price they're probably sending out something that may have already been returned.

I'd send it back for a refund and wouldn't waste more time on it, because that barrel needs to be removed and inspected for more damage. If no additional damage, I'd cut that damaged end and give it a new crown.

That Crown doesn’t look good at all to me.Very rough looking. And it looks like it might have a slight Burr but it’s hard to really tell by the picture.

That crowning job and rifling damage is disgraceful at any price. Sadly, it is a common practice for SPA. Both my CR600W and CP2 had similar damage. Fortunately it isn’t a difficult thing for me to correct but that is not true for most owners.

Crosman did the same thing for many years.

It’s really a shame too because every example I’ve corrected has done remarkably well.

My advice is arrange to send it back, show them the photos, and ask them if they have any plans to get their act together. This has been going on since at least 2017

Yep, crown sucks.I think it is Crazy for a company, then a store to send out such a bad rifle,crazy..That said it is a great thing for us buyers to see such a bad specimen of air rifle,We are warned...

Nate does his best and gets better ....

I agree 100% with Centercut what to do.....maybe the "store" will put pressure on Artemis to hire some quality assurance people that have good eyesight and know what they are doing..

Remember what someone said about Chinese goods,it is cheaper for them to replace than to fix the problem..

Artemis=crap shoot....like the new owner becomes the final inspector and worker. LOL sorry, I know it ain't funny.

Thanks for the advice guys! You brought up some great points about the videos and dealing with the "store". I didn't want to disappoint the airgun store. I asked for that particular gun because I figured a regulator = accuracy. So it's kind of half my fault. Now that I heard how bad that barrel is and that it's a manufacturing issue, I'm thinking I should just do the straight review and take the heat from the store. I have to think about this one. I'm pretty sure the store won't want to work with me again...but who knows, maybe they will be cool.

Thanks for all the input! -Nate

You are not going to disappoint the store, they disappointed you. Are you blinded by YouTube $$?

News Flash: This thread looks like a review to me. Good job! Get the word out, it's the only way they will improve. A review guns quality isn't a reflection on yours, unless you suppress or omit the truth of it.

By the way, you said you've never seen a airgun regulated at 100 Bar? The .177/.22 Gauntlet, from the factory, is regulated at 85 Bar. Some of those come rough, but everyone that I have shot has been very accurate.
