For the time being I have chosen to continue to fill with the boosters. This has been a choice that gets questioned lately a lot. For one, I say, to each their own. Do what works for you, share your experience and learn from others respectfully.
Why I choose to boost: I can piece my components as I please. Not any one component is horribly heavy to move around, most everything is user serviceable, I’m never in a hurry to fill, sending an 80 Lb box back across the USA for service is not for me, I can upgrade each unit at my pace if needed/wanted (as is my case just now), my lifestyle doesn’t allow for spending a couple of days tearing down a compressor & rebuilding it, comfort level. Amongst perhaps other factors I may have forgotten.
My shop compressor, Husky 5.1 CFM developed an internal leak, so back to HD it went. Replaced it with a 15 Gallon Dewalt Shop compressor that I can use in my shop for tools as well. Find pics bellow. I will update this post with other info as it comes along.
