Why is replying to a classified add disabled?

Agreed, PM and Member Classifieds require Admin approval after required 10 quality posts/10 days. The days, you have, posts, not yet. WM

Best to do more than the minimum requirements just to attempt contact.

You can't reply in the Classified section to keep posts from constantly being bumped to the top. You need to PM the OP.
For that, as already stated, there are minimal requirements.

There must have been version updates or something changed since I became a member roughly 5 years ago. I seem to remember posting and purchasing through the classifieds. Yes, it was years ago. I've also been away for awhile. But, I'm back and glad to be here.

We got rid of the replies to classifieds years ago, because they are unnecessary and cause unneeded conversations and bumping. I’m happy for it.

I figured as much. With the remaining memory I do have, I recall the "unnecessary" comments and bumping that took place. I like the way you have it now.

Thank goodness replies are turned off. Some people just can’t refrain from adding unnecessary comments. Case in point I’m on a corvette c8 forum and if a dealer lists one for 3k under someone will chime in I’ve seen it for 5k under. It’s ridiculous.
