Why the US prices for Brk Ghost World Record Limited are so high?

Checking the prices for Brk Ghost World Record Limited.

In the US, pre-order prices are about $3195. If I pre-order them from the UK, they are about $2100. What is the downside of ordering from the UK?

Downside will be if they'll even ship you one to start, since the UK is very strict about exports. Email the store or, as they call them, RFD, tell them you live in the US and see what they say when you ask to buy one.

Even if they ship, you will also pay customs import duties. With the import duties and high shipping cost, the price will almost be the same.

Duty fees are typically only around 4-5% (more from China) and shipping really isn't that bad eaither. Warranty claims may be an issue though.

I did check the duty fees and shipping. If I buy it from a US store, I have to pay sales tax and shipping costs. So, it is almost a wash…

Good point about the warranty. Let me check with Brk to see if the warranty is international.

Its more about whether or not a local importer is going to be willing to assist you. I bought Weihrauchs from Krale knowing full well if there was an issue I would be SOL. I wouldn't expect AoA to warranty a gun I purchased elsewhere to save a few bucks. Granted in this case it is waaay more than a few bucks.

U would also be getting a 12ft lb gun from the uk. Then u would have to get the parts to up it to the poundage u want. Bite the bullet. Get it in the states.

I know. But the Uk doesn't allow anything over 12. And that's where he's trying to buy

If you want to keep buying in USA then support USA . I know of a lot of store's that have gone under from outside USA sales . Even just out of state to save the tax $$ (another hobby but same principle )

If I can save a significant chunk of change buying outside of the US, I am buying outside of the US...its why many of us flock to aliexpress for certain items. You either support YOUR retirement plans or someone else's...You either line THEIR pockets AND the 'US STORE' you support, or simply just THEIR pockets by ruling out the middle man... It's not like you're buying US made by supporting the US importer/middle man...just my 2c

They sell full power airguns in the UK. You just need a FAC to buy anything over 12ftlbs. Whether or not they'll ship to the US is another story entirely

They do actually. Their laws work sort of like Canada's and you need to be licensed for FAC rifles and have the rifle in question on it but as already mentioned, will they ship it here and if they will, how hard will he get hit for duties and import fees.

the UK does allow guns over 12 ft pounds, you need a Firearm Certificate (FAC) to have one over 12 fpe....

That is incorrect, you do realise we don’t just have sub 12, we also have fac/ hp .30 ghost owned by a very good friend of mine here in the uk. Yes our laws are strict but with the right reasons you can own a whole host of different rifles
