Why would you sell?

Considering the vast selection in the classifieds section I'm left wondering why some of you part w your guns

Obviously it's often a means to clean out some space & acquire some spending cash to maybe try something different. But I see a lot of newer, high-end guns that come up which begs the question in my mind of what's the point of getting rid of a perfectly good gun? As a group there it seems like there are often comments made in reference to how expensive the costs of this activity can be, but it's funny how we tend to fully throw logic out the window when considering gun replacement costs.

Do golfers go thru clubs in the same way that we collectively go thru guns?
Bored or wanting an upgrade or heaven forbid - rebuying a gun you wished you hadn’t sold

I usually sell after I’ve amassed more than I can shoot. My problem is I keep buying! I want to try or collect so many different airguns.

Eventually, I look at my collection and see everything I haven’t shot or shot very
infrequently. I decide to get rid of almost everything. Thank God for the Indiana Airgun Show; most of my current collection will be on my tables.

Then I’ll “chill” with the buying for a while… although, who knows what I’ll find at the show?

I'm 73 years old and I have been collecting high quality air rifles for the past few years in the hope of setting-up a 50-yard outdoor range at my second home. Unfortunately, at 73 your body starts to betray you and the things that you had on your bucket list don't seem quite as obtainable as time goes on. I am now in the unfortunate position of having to sell my entire air gun inventory including an FX Impact 3 (Bronze) new and unused, an FX Crown (IV8888 version) serial number 88 out of 100 set up for shooting arrows, and an Air Arms S510 Ultimate Sporter with laminated stock plus accessories. I am hoping to have them posted on the Classified section here with pictures within the next two weeks. Life can get in the way of having fun, it can deal you some financial blows that you have to deal with, or a host of other issues can arise that cause us to change our plans, however disappointing that might be!

Darryl,

I am very sorry to hear of your recent blows to your health and your airgunning plans! 😞

This must be difficult. I feel with you.
Please, hang in there.
