Hi everyone I have a 88cu ft scba tank that I think the pressure gauge is off. Has anyone ever replace one with a wika gauge and what size did you replace it with? Thanks
Wika makes quality gauges but so do many gauge manufacturers and they are not difficult to find nor as overpriced as the ones listed above.
Most gauges are either 1/8' NPT thread if they are less than 2" face diameter, or 1/4" NPT if 2" or larger in diameter. Airtanksforsale gauges are ususally BSP threaded as are many guages that are made in Eurorpe. Just know which one you need and order the correct thread size and type. It is very easy to convert a BSP female threaded fitting to an NPT fitting with an NPT tap if necessary. Do not thread BSP thread gauges into NPT threaded holes or vice versa to prevent leaks and failures. NPT and BSP have different threads per inch and will leak if cross matched. Here is a source for quality pressure gauges in Houston that has practically every type you could need.
