The group at 100 yards with NSA 33 grain is excellent!!!
Thanks Emu!
Compliments are well and good and they are appreciated, but is the MKIII still worthy of them? While I was plinking today @ my 100 yard gongs. I thought, why don’t I show them again, take pictures, and make a post? Instead of just thanking Emu. I mean, what if it’s all a fluke?
I’ll explain each photo.
This gif was taken to illustrate the ammo used, which was the JSB King Heavy 33.95g pellets and Nielsen Specialty Ammo HP 33.5 g slugs. Both shot on max HST level #7 around 940 to 950 fps. Also, I made the below gif, to give some realism to the 100 yard shots, how far and how the wind was moving.
Wind conditions.
The smaller gong to the right was my sighter groups JSB’s on the left and NSA’s on the right. I usually holdover but this time around I decided to dial my Hawke FFP Sidewinder scope for the 100 yard shot groups ( the WC is normally zero’d @ 25 yards ). The single shots separated from the main groups were the first shot. Both projectile’s elevation dial was 1.5 mils up, but the NSA’s required a additional 0.5 mil windage dial to the left to be zero’d for 100 yards. This is why I power tune my FX airgun’s, the holdover would have been 3 or 4 mils at the factory settings. “Flat Trajectory!”
Now, for the official 5 shot 100 yard groups! Shot on the large gong on the left. I shot the NSA’s on the right first, and the first four hit near perfect and the last one I believe I scratched my nose (got off the gun) and it landed a little low to the right. The group to the left are the JSB’s. The Sniper MKIII unbelievably put the first 3 shots in the exact same spot!!! Then, in my typical amateur airgun shooting fashion I pulled the last 2 shots to the left.
No gun is perfect and no shooter is perfect. But, this one is pretty darn good!
