The gun is in pieces and awaiting new o rings. The barrel o ring (internal) has some odd marks on it so it'll be replaced.



Cleaned the barrel with a pull through and it was quite dirty. I'd be interested to know if anyone has a pic of the internal of the barrel because I can't see much of any rifling at all - but then I've never seen this type of bore up close and personal before.

Not much rifling in the smooth twist barrel liner. Perhaps 2-3 inches worth from the muzzle end. Even that is really hard to see looking at the inside with the liner pointed up to a light.

Did you try shooting it after cleaning the barrel really well? Sort of a baseline to go from or you plan to just wait for the o-rings? If you're talking about those 2 o-rings between the barrel and liner, they supposedly help with harmonics but I run mine without them and it shoots fine.

Another thing to think about is if you started shooting at a different box of pellets, with different size, or different manufacturing date. I had an experience with my wildact mk2 where most pellets except for the JSB exact 8 grains did shoot good. It turned out the tins I had was smaller than 4.52mm which was written on the box. So with some bad luck sometime the same brand and type of pellets can shoot worse just because they are made in another machine in the factory, and are smaller or bigger than the previous tins.

Thanks all and apologies if I don't reply to each of you individually.

I checked the pellet probe depth, as best I could but will do it again with decent calipers, it was 29.3 which I believe is a little too much so I'll correct this on re-assembly.

No evidence anywhere of clipping.

Hopefully at the weekend I'll be able to get the o rings replaced and check out some of the suggestions as well as get an air top up!

OK, update time

Accuracy seems to be restored and I hate to say this because I was skeptical but it seems as though it was cleaning the barrel that did it.

Reg reset to 130bar and it seems a better balance between power and number of shots.

Scope checked on my rimmy with no problem.

Hammer spring adjustment threads loctite'd (threadlocked).

Cleaning the barrel messed up the probe seal so I have a wait to get a new one (hence the delay) 

During testing it today I blew an o ring on the reg so now I need a new one of those. Actually not sure I blew one of the the o rings or the Huma reg has physically moved allowing air passed the vent hole. That's tomorrows investigation!

I'll update the thread with any more findings, for the time being I want to get some pellets through it and see if the accuracy falls off again.

Glad to hear you got it going your way now. I had problems with the 70durometer O-rings that originally came with my Huma for my Wildcat. I switched to some 90durometer which by the way is what the regulators are shipped with now and my problem went away. They are harder to install because they don't compress as much but just take your time and work the regulator in nice and slow with plenty of silicone grease. I don't think it's possible for the regulator to move since the plenum spacer will keep the regulator in the proper position (the o-rings away from the vent hole). Good luck...

I've also found that my WC absolutely hates AA Diablo Hunter 16grn pellets.

Enterpryse you were asked if you recently added a moderator to your rifle and you did not answer...so I will ask again: Did you recently add a moderator to your rifle?

I would be willing to be that it is the cause of your problems. Take everything off your barrel including the barrel shroud and with just the naked barrel shoot some groups at 30 yards and you will probably see one small hole in the target. Then add your air stripper and barrel shroud and shoot another group at 30 yards and it will probably be one small hole also. Then screw your new moderator on and shoot a group at 30 yards and tell me what you see...

If your breech oring were missing you would see a drop in velocity but not 6" groups...and if your pellet probe were misaligned with the barrel's transfer port you would also see a big drop in velocity but not 6" groups at 30 yards.

Sounds like a dropped gun on the moderator. Had a Hatsan that was dropped by my son. Went from 2 inch groups at 75 yards to six inch at 30 yards, immediately.

FX guns like the Wildcat and others seem to perform better at lower speeds, but some folks are always looking for more fps. I have heard it said "If it ain't broke don't fix it." Good words to live by when you are dealing with FX perfection.
