Will Red Dot ever go Olympic 10 Meter ?

It is stupid if the true goal is to determine the best shot, that some sights are excluded. Kind of like how the Tour de France bicycle rules mandating a double diamond frame have been holding back bike design for decades. Who knows where we'd be if these orginizations (populated with morons) would get out of the way. Every sport has this because of glory hounds that want to be able to compare their achievment to others instead of advancing the sport itself to new realms.

I hope Olympic 10Meter will someday go Red Dot sights....

It would open the doors to many of the older really good shooters that have eyesight difficulty with Open Iron Sights...

Do they make any Red Dot scopes w/a small enough moa dot, to compete at any range?

If you're aware of any 1/8-1/16" moa etched dot, please let me know.

I have several Cloned Trijicon RM07 Red Dots, each has 4 Reticle choices with 4 MOA choices, the smallest being 1 MOA which I use at 8 Meter and hard to imagine a smaller moa or dot....

The Weaver T series utilizes a very fine 1/8-1/16" dot in the crosshair and it isn't for everyone, but in targets, the background is usually ideal.
I get what you're saying though and apologize as OP is looking for easier to see. I've just avoided red dot due to too big. Thanks on the Trijicon recommendation.

No matter what sight is used us old guys don't stand a chance against the young people shooting ten meters!! The average score of 10.5 or better is needed to compete in world class events where the ten ring is the size if a dot made by a pencil and 25 is considered old in this game. No matter what sights are aloud the best won't be an old guy!! We have had our day in the sun!! Let the young ones have theirs now!! Us old coots can barely compete against our selves!!

I shot Rimfire 50yd Precision Bench Rest for years back in the day...Frequently used Globe and Diopter sights on various Rifles and found them very accurate once you learned how to sight with them...

Anschutz, Remington 40X, Suhl 150, BRNO...

After the USAF 1960'S I visited a town just south of Pueblo, La Hunta I think, with an old AF buddy, picked Melons and Tomatoes for 2 weeks until I turned Green....

My buddy was Hispanic I'm Caucasian, we would go to various bars at night, he told me to keep my mouth shut so I wouldn't be picked out as a White guy....lots Mariatche bands at every bar....

Those were the days.......

While I acknowledge a red dot is useful for certain conditions and/or types of shooting, it’s not obvious to me that it would be advantageous for Olympic competition. The human brain is very good at centering concentric circles, and a diopter and globe sight allows one to do that without occluding the aim point, unlike a red dot.

Yes, occluding the aim point is the worst part of an RDS. I'm very new to the optic world, but I can see a market for a dot sight with a ring, instead of a dot. Maybe an 8 mil OD and 4 mil ID?
