Will the 7mm That’s Being Introduced by the Wolfiek Group Prove to be Better for Competitive Shooters?

I also have a similar Arsenal mold in .257 (85gr) but prefer the 257420 BT. The .280 that you show is for a 270 Winchester. .280 is sized down to fit a .277 groove diameter.

For a 7mm, best to start with at least .284 as cast.

The Arsenal 257420 BT was used to win 2022 RMAC long range slug match.

The NOE 106gr 7mm was used to win the 2023 and 2024 RMAC long range slug matches. There are some benefits to the heavier 7mm, though I’m not convinced it’s a better long range caliber for general use.
The 257-420 bt will work better in the 1-14 .. the one you have.. was successfully used up to 1000y but with a 1-13 bull barrel.. i have 3 different twist in 257 .. 1-12 .. 1-8 .. 1-9 but no machinists.. same for my 224 .. they barely came machined well enough to be tested.. the bullet mold in the picture is a B&M iron n cast at 92gr spizer bt .. the other is the 257-418 n that one cast ar 98gr .. but then again no machinists so no testing for me .. 🙃 I don't complain much because anyway I really don't have the time.. to much work not enough Days. By the way awesome looking custom rig you have built.. Good luck in this next competition season..👍👍

After seeing how the Cedric .224 gun worked .. from not being to good with cast bullets . To a Lazer with sway bullets..could be maybe that your 7mm could work better for your application with sway bullets. Maybe going for a heavyweight like 125gr to 135gr .. maybe the problem rely that we are trying to shoot PB bullets look a like . But we don't have enough power.. I think sway is the solution they are way more stable than cast bullets..

I have a 34" 1-18 .284 tj barrel on my custom texan. Its more accurate than 1-14 twist .284.I have the noe 84 gr mold which wasn't as accurate in either twist as the noe 106 mold i had decked to drop at 91grn....its super accurate with 1-18 twist at 1010fps 91grn hollow point. Its probally best long range caliber....next best is .257....I have both. .258 is good out to about just under 300 yards. .284 aka 7mm is good out to about just under 500 yards. 91 grn .284 just bucks the wind and has good bc.
