I'm just beginning to seriously factor in wind for my 100m target shooting. What indicators do you use or recommend? Being in a high desert area of Arizona we don't have much vegetation to use for gauging wind. I was thinking of just sticking some bamboo sticks in the ground with an attached streamer or flag.

I think cordon tape on a L-shaped stick is the easiest/best/most widely used wind indicator.

I just use cheap marking tape and fiberglass rods from old sand buggy flags. Someday I may go all out and get one of those improved benchrest flags. I do like gadgets.

I think AoA sells a set of wind flags but, I cannot find them on the website.
They also sell the "Windicator" It's a bit pricey and has mixed reviews but, also gives you a LOT of information in one spot!
Whatever you do DO NOT count on Mark Buchanan to make a set!

Some people just connect several strands of yarn to the end of the barrel. They fray the yarn to get the best feel for the wind.

I bought some flags from Orlando Flags, they work very well, But don't leave they out in the weather, pivot points started to corrode. Buffed they back out and they're smooth again.

Yes and no. That is the Windicator I'm referring to. But, I think they may also sell a set of traditional flags.

Those look good too - helping you to read quartering wind conditions (vs 90 deg right or left).
