Shooting into a 9mph twitchy headwind is challenging with 18gr pellets. I think I held pretty tight groups up to 85 yards. The 102 yard group opened up considerably. But hey, that’s pellets in wind. Love the Crown in the 380mm set up!
I held center on all. The wind was pretty consistent which is odd. A steady left to right push for the most part. Usually it’s hard left then drop. Head on pushing down an inch then a right gust out of nowhere. My range is tricky. I basically have a clear football field which is elevated by about 10-20 feet with heavy tree line all around. The wind whips from all directions at times. I never had luck with the barracuda 15’s or 18’s. The JSB 18’s are the crowns favorite with the short barrel. The groups look great for shots in the wind. Were you adjusting your point of aim for the wind or just shooting?
I tried a 30 yard challenge target this morning early when the wind was calmer than it is now. I thought the H&N 18s going about the same speed as you were shooting might be OK. They were not. Some shots were fine but when I shot when the wind was blowing I went from an X to a 8 or 9. 1/4 inch movement or less but that makes a difference on this target. I was shooting my Caiman X. I had a couple wind flags out but was not paying attention to them. I should have.
