Hand cast with special preparation. Boat tail with shallow cup point. Profile designed by Bob Sterne with mold made by NOE.

This year, four of the top ten shot with this slug in a custom 7mm build. Overall winner Derrick Wall cleaned the course and won the three way shoot off Sunday morning, with a first round hit on a 12” square target at 600yds. And 400 feet up a mountain side. 60” of hold off (20” for spin drift and 40” for wind).

@Scotchmo Are the participants casting their own projectiles or is someone selling these slugs?

@zx10wall Bringin the title back to the Lone Star! Nicely done. Congratulations.

As for the other participants, it’s highly variable with some casting their own while most purchase slugs, in cast, swaged, or CNC turned.

I cast the slugs used by the four 7mm shooters. The mold is available for purchase, but it is very unlikely that someone would be selling these 7mm slugs as there are currently no 7mm airguns being sold.
