Winter Blahs = More Forum Time

How many have noticed that your forum participation seems to get a jolt during the winter months? I visit here daily, multiple times a day, but notice that unless I tend to be a little more quiet during the summer months. I'm not stuck indoors as much and tend to be outside as much as possible when not at work.

But during the winter, I post a bit more... and look a little closer at the classifieds, unfortunately. I'm set up for 10m airgunning in my gun room, but sadly it doesnt get as much use as I figure it could/should during winter.

Anyone else notice the same of yourself?

By the time I'm off and home from work, it's usually dark. I'll still shoot if it's sunny on the weekends, and not super cold like in the teens and below.

This has relegated me to the basement where I'm tinkering and shooting my new pistol build on my 7 yard basement range.

Yup, winter in Canada. It's indoor activities until March.

I have an honest 10 meter range in the basement that sees a lot of use.

I think I post more this time of the year as well.

Thankfully, I'm not totally shut down though. During the winter I shoot on my walk-out basement range. I can get 13 yards. I also shoot my bows in this space. The main thing winter curtails for me is my woodworking hobby. My small shop is unheated.

Lucky I live in Mobile Al - still gets cold but afternoons are still shooting weather.
If I get home by 4:15 I usually have enough time to range and knock down 50 field targets from 10-55 yards

I finished my basement - man cave during covid lockdown and nomore plinking in the house.
First time -13C today looks like winter is aproaching slowly but no major snow yet.
Not sure when can I visit my gun club soon. Two years ago in January I got a bad cold at my outdoor club - pissing blood and ended up with surgery and long recovery ... lessons learned.
Forums season starts for me :)

I spent too much time all year on here . Retired , and that's the problem ! "there is always tomorrow to do anything i want ."
I'm with beerthief, retired and a lot of time on my hands to spend here and yes, I spend more time here in winter than summer. I live in a subdivision and have limited shooting opportunities so live vicariously through all of you.

Is that top one a Steyr LG-1?? I had one that I stupidly sold a few years back. Lovely rifle and I should have kept mine.

Being up here in ND, by the time I get home it's about dark. So I have been shooting the leshiy classic more with the dnt. Really helps to be able to see what your shooting at. But the cold isn't bad, once your cold your cold. So might as well shoot. Lol

The top airgun is a FWB 603, also on the table is a FWB P8x and a FWB Model 100 10 meter pistol. I'm fond of Feinwerkbau, there's also a 124 and a 300 (both scoped) in the cabinet. Feinwerkbau makes VERY nice airguns! Hope to have one of their Model 900 PCP rifles one day.

Being Canadian, I don't mind cold (it's warmed up to a balmy 10 degrees F) but numb fingers make it difficult to shoot and the airguns complain as well. I don't like bringing an ice cold gun in the house and have the humidity condense all over it.

I do most of my pistol during the winter, keeps me entertained!

Cheers!
