Winter Projects? Let’s see em!

S200 needs attention
-Rebuild regulator
-install butt extension
-align barrel (the barrel mounted dovetail is off a little)
-try and vinyl wrap the stock to matte black (first time I tried it didn’t go well)

Avanti CZ200 Hunter
-figure out why the bolt isn’t always working

Bullshark 177
-tune for 13.4gr pellets

edIWell, just another 22XX bottle build, has a Cothran valve and a 24" LW .25 barrel.Been using a paintball reg, but just switched over to a Huben Cricket adjustable reg, much more consistent, will post pics and chrony numbers if can ever catch up on the "honey doos"

Not too shabby, got the reg output set around 2100 psi. Switched the reg gauge to a 3000 psi unit, better resolution.

I have that barrel on a P15, it likes the Zan 28gr slug if you ever thought about shooting slugs.

Thank you for the tip - where to purchase if you don't mind me asking?

My first winter build:

I know, I know, "Another Notos, gaaahhhh!"

.22 Notos, fully ported to 4.5mm, 500mm FX Barrel kit, Dream Valve set to 8 MPa, UTG folder adapter, FX Maverick cocking handle, insides lubed properly.

NEW for this build, CRC Machining 30cc Plenum, Direct Attachment to the receiver.

Eliminates part 42 and gives a super strong mount to the gun for drop-blocks and bottles!

Results? 90 shots at 900fps with CPHP's with a 3500psi bottle fill.

Even with cheap pellets, the hundo card shows great accuracy potential. This was shot at 10m, the large bull is just scope adjustment.

Should be between 30-1/8" and 30-3/8" overall.

Unless I can dig up a shorter, smaller in diameter, muffler before I get the shroud welded. Would be GREAT if I can find a muffler that's the "same" diameter as the shroud. Then, the end of the muffler will end at the end of the air cylinder.

Mike
Sounds like a winner to me. Shorter than factory with a moderator. What diameter is the shroud? Maybe someone knows of a moderator that’s same diameter.
Make sure to post pictures and let me know how it turns out. I’ll probably be on the hunt for my next gun soon.

Take care
Rob

Nice! Always liked those cz200s. What kinda power can you get out of it? Oh and how you like that disco scope. I got one myself and haven’t mounted it yet. Probably going to go on my P-Rod.

Both of mine are right around 12 FPE with 10.3 gr pellets. I really like the scopes, I bought two. After my group testing i'm doing I plan on doing a box test with the scope. It's a great compact backyard pesting scope. My two CZ200's shoot flat for all my pesting distances in my yard, so not much work the scope has to do.

Thanks. I figure it might be a decent P-rod scope. It’ll just be a 50yd or less rig for my dog walks. Hopefully get it mounted to try soon. I’m waiting on a mount that’s in the mail. Unfortunately it hasn’t moved in two weeks lol

Waiting for my parts to arrive,
First thing I will replace that USB power cord with magnetic rotating contact with a bit longer so I can disconnect the wire from the radar.

Next I will build couple dope cards, for BR and siluettes and one for PB long range.

The I may even rebuild my Labradar.
This will take me couple days :)

That’s a great idea. Stinks when guns have big empty shrouds that do very little. Then you add a mod and it’s not so compact anymore.
If you remember send me pictures when it’s done.I considered a Sahara myself. Would be more appealing to me if it could be kept around 30”- with a moderator.

Rob
Actually, it should be about 26-1/4" long now.
I cut the diameter of a Huma Mod30 so it's a little larger than the shroud, but should fit without hitting/rubbing the air cylinder. The two chamber Mod 30 will stop about 1/4"...past the end of the cylinder. If I need to trim more, I "think" there is enough material to trim more off the diameter. As long as a piece of normal writing paper (about .004") will fit between the shroud and air cylinder with full air pressure, I'm good.

Oh yea that’s going to be awesome! You was able to cut down a lot. Going to be a whole new gun. Looking forward to seeing it. Thanks for sharing the progress🤘

That compact scope looks nice. Mind sharing the make, model and where you purchased it sir?

Thx

I'm adapting an FX barrel liner to a crosman 22xx carbine that I got from Vetmx awhile back for a project that's now long gone.

Just waiting for a breech to show up. It'll be a single shot, but it's in a boyds stock so using the raised/multi shot breech on there is out due to the non existent cheek weld. You end up having to rest your chin on the cheek piece to get a sight picture.

Been working on an AR2078 bulk fill project. Picked up a threaded cylinder and some valves a few years back (machined by the fella who designed/ built the Colchester gamekeeper TDR rifle over here) which he made for a hpa conversion-

Screenshot_20241209_153527_Gallery.jpg

The brass valve body had a stem/ poppet, the black one (which is stainless) didn't so....I modded the S/S one to be a fill valve and turned up a probe, and made a poly sealed poppet for the firing valve-

Machined up a new barrel support, turned up an old 5.5mm XS501 barrel, made a new oversized bolt handle, and basic offset RVA aswell-

Now.....I'm not filling a cylinder that I haven't seen tested with hpa, so plan to use this for bulk fill Co2, however.....have started testing with hpa at 55bar as haven't got a Co2 tank/ extinguisher yet.

The brass valve body that came with the cylinder was just all wrong.....6.35mm throat (stem steps from 6.35 to 4mm) so the poly seal ended up near 8mm. Had to max out on striker spring just to hit 8.5fpe, and cocking effort was just nasty, so.....

Bored out the valve body and turned up a new seat/ poppet from PEEK and acetal-

20250104_133452.jpg

Also made up a lighter long throw 'hybrid' hammer from oilon (like MDS) with a S/S core and PEEK striker face (weighs 25gr)-

20241229_123505.jpg

The throat is now 5mm, stem 3mm (reducing to 2.25mm to TP) both turned/ lapped to 45deg, and valve spring has been relocated to low pressure side. Using a hammer spring that only produced 5fpe with the original valve now produces 13.5fpe (zero preload) with this valve (at 55bar).

Was pretty nervous about getting a seal with matching seat/ poppet surfaces a 55bar so gave it my all, but amazingly it.... seals down to 30bar.

Plenty to do still, but it's looking promising.

I bought 2 last summer on a “back to school” sale 😂
I really like them, currently on a winter sale.

I just found this on AliExpress: $99.00 | Discovery HT 6X24AOE Super Ultra-Short Compact Scope Red Green Illuminated Sight Design For Air Guns and Light Weight Firearms
