Daystate WolfBlack

Any one out there actually have a Black Wolf who is not an influencer?
Awfully quiet out there about the Black Wolf. Are they pulling an FX and hyping the crap out of what they cannot ship?
It had my attention. Daystate quality and no computer.
AOA sold out their initial stock immediately more due in late March.
Anticipation is the name of the game!

Well, I’ve been thinking it for a while… but now I’m just going to say it…

“I just don’t understand what is driving the high cost of this mechanical rifle?!!”

I know Daystates. I know how they are built. I’ve currently got 3 of them, my Wolverine R HP is in pieces at my feet, gonna put a new regulator in and swap bottle to 580cc. I’ve torn them down to the valve internals a number of times…

… these are simple rifles. They don’t have many parts. One of the best features of Daystates is their slingshot hammer system. The new Blackwolf isn’t even going to use it.

The lowest cost Blackwolf is like $2,500 with a “carbon” (polymer) stock!

These are just straight forward simple rifles with LW barrels. Ultimately, your specific barrel is going to drive the ultimate accuracy you can achieve.

I can understand the high cost of Daystate’s electronic rifles. They are somewhat unique in the marketplace. The Blackwolf is different, it doesn’t seem like it’s got many/any innovative tech… and making a valve stem out of titanium is not my idea of “innovation”.

Maybe I’m missing something….

I came really close to getting a Wolverine R in .25 . The price of a quality air rifle here in canuckistan is obscene. 3K plus taxes. The black wolf looks like it ticks a lot of boxes. Again we’re still waiting for a price here. I’m thinking probably close to 4K , I can buy three HW100’s for that and has the same features minus the power wheel.

When they raised the price on the little brother Ghost to ridiculous prices, they didn’t leave themselves any room on this rifle if it is supposed to be better. Had to keep making it higher and higher.

Only solution for such high prices is stopping buying them.

That's the only way....

Agreed. The only way to put the brakes on is don’t buy. As long as a decent number of people will pay the piper, they will keep playing the tune. Don’t worry, they won‘t quit developing new and better stuff. That is how they sell guns. Prices also have to be acceptable to the majority of the potential buyers. I think they are approaching the ceiling but I could be wrong.

I called AOA couple of weeks ago to inquire about the gun. They said there is a wait list of 30+ people at that time, probably more now. They will be getting shipments every month though they won't know which version of the rifle they will receive. The more popular model people are getting is the grey laminate bottle with 23" barrel in .22
