Wolverine B- Hi Lite .25

Well AOA just called and said the .25 does not in fact have the Harper Sling Valve. Bummer. So now the dilemma, do I switch to .22? What is a better trade off for long range accuracy? The Ballistic coeffecient of the .25 or the consistency of the Harper sling valve in the .22? Any thoughts? I'm all ears since I have a short time to decide before the gun ships out today. Thank you in advance for any help, and thank you KY for bringing this to my attention!!

Well after some consideration I decided to stick with the .25. It was the caliber I really wanted to being with and AOA is saying the valving system is still very efficient and will still offer decent consistency. Besides, there doesn't seem to be much info about the performance of the .25 so I'm excited to try one out and see what it's capable of, especially in regards to the Royale 500. Thanks everyone that took the time to try to help out and thanks again KY for bringing it to my attention!

"Strikey"I thought all the mechanical Daystate rifles had the Harper valve but not all use the Slingshot Hammer, could be wrong.

I think its all the mechanical DS's over 40ftlb use the slingshot hammer everything under have a the harper I think the hi-lite .25 had a max spread of around 85 fps over 40 shots

Yikes! 85 fps spread isn't what I would call consistent, but it looks like if you take the last 10 shots off, the extreme spread is cut in half for 30 shots which isn't horrible. With a little tinkering, maybe I'll be able to get it a bit better. Maybe the .25 is meant to be filled to a bit higher pressure? AOA says it will get 40 fairly consistent shots so we'll see how that works. I'm really interested to get my hands on it and learn what it can do.

The deciding factor for me was that I just felt as though if I ordered the .22 that I already knew what the results were going to be and it wasn't offering much in the learning dept for me. It just seemed a bit boring to me. Maybe that's not the right wording but the prospect of getting and learning the .25 seemed far more interesting to me. Besides, between the BSA R-10 and the Cricket rifle, I already have two .22's that will get between 45 to 65 or 70 super consistent shots.

Regardless, I'm pretty pumped to try it out and if it isn't something that I personally am excited to shoot, the Daystates seem to hold their value pretty well. :)
