Hey admins,, in the snowmobile forums I’m in there is a section for the states. You can follow or post in your area or one you go to. Would be cool to have a state subgroup here so you could connect with others in your area

GTA has one but it makes an already cluttered forum even more cluttered with all the extra sub-gates
My thought is that it would be easy to do without cluttering and with very little code. Simply add an option to tag ones profile, then one could filter for posts with that tag. Actually, we can do that now in our signature. Anyways, just a thought.

Rather than create a sub-forum, perhaps create various regional threads for everyone interested. So if Florida is interested, start a Florida thread. If there is enough regional threads with enough activity, that could demonstrate feasibility of sub-forums.

Maybe when you create a thread people could add their state to the end of the title. That would make it searchable and easy to find all threads from a given state. Something like this perhaps:

@IAfaug It is limiting in these sense that some of us only put our state on our profiles. In big states like Alaska, California, Texas, Montana, or Florida there’s a lot of land and the closest member on the map may be hours from you.
