Woohoo New Gun Day!

Sweet. I know what your going through. I just used my R9 .20 few weeks ago first time. Enjoy. I’ll bet, and I’m not a gambler, your 95 will soon be your go to squirrel getter. I wacked one already with mine. Crow
Crowski,

Do you have a kit in yours? I'm finding the shot cycle feels a bit sluggish with the 13.73gr JSBs

No kit in it yet. But I would have to say of all my rifles nothing responded at quick as my R9. It was a laser from the first shot. I was shooting 13.73’s. I’ll try the H+N’s today. Crow

Ok so I'll go with my first instinct here and just keep shooting it. Looking forward to hearing how those Baracudas do!

Mine is the Beeman branded R9, bought gently used from fellow member justanothajoe a couple years ago with less than 2 tins through it. Still factory stock although I have a new in package Vortek PG2 HO kit I bought 5 years ago when I bought my HW95 .22 if or when it needs one and I've shot a 3rd tin and half of another since I got it, so ballpark 1750 shots.
Numbers from my chrony after that 3rd tin:
-H&N FTT 11.42: 753 10 shot avg, FPE 14.38, ES 9, SD 2
-H&N Baracuda 13.58: 683 10 shot average, 14.07 FPE, ES 11, SD 4
-JSB Exact 13.73: 682fps 10 shot avg, 14.18 FPE, ES 13, SD 4
-JSB Heavy 15.89: 631 10 shot average, 14.05 FPE, ES 15, SD 4
It had a Hawke Panorama on it I swapped for an Airmax 4-12x40, sighted in at 25 yards with FTT's, then just aimed dead center and shot the other 3 to see how they'd group.

All 4 shot very well and dialing in for any of them would just be a click or 2.

Are the FTTs super loose in yours? On mine they basically just drop right in and take just about zero effort to seat them

Mine take a little push with all 4 of the ones I tried. None were fall out loose or hurt your thumb they were so hard to load.

Totally happy for you! That is shooting great 🎯 Congratulations on a new air rifle. Isn't this SO FUN! 🤠😎

OK, I had to share a picture of some HW guns. Second from left is a HW95. I have 3 actually. Love the 95/R9!

Thank you! You have some gorgeous guns there man!

That's me loading, how they feel to my thumb and what I should have said. Couple are a bit snug but not what I'd consider hurt your thumb snug...lol.

Might have to do like Mr Arrow there and take a family pic of mine although one would be the Diana distant cousin of the HW/Beemans since I own a D34K Premium in .20...lol

I'm a fan for sure! This thing seems to be settling in at almost 16fpe already and its a lazer out to 50yds. I wish the FTTs shot better but it is what it is
Maybe not. Sean Gabrelle and I set up two chronies 47 yards apart and the BC on the JSBs is considerably better. I was hoping the reverse. My R1 preferred the FTTs but I would have much preferred it to like the JSBs. They like what they like. Be glad it likes something currently available. There's not a lot of 20 caliber pellet choices.
My 20 caliber R9 is becoming my new favorite so I'm sure you're thrilled with yours shooting so well out of the box.

Enjoy.

Yeah I think I'm going to stick to the JSBs. The gun is starting to settle in very nicely now and I'm ALMOST printing some 0.4" 10 shot groups at 30m with them. Shoot, the one group looks to be almost 0.3" if it wasn't for that high shot. They're pushing 16fpe as of right now as well so I really won't complain.

3x attempts with the FTTs before I called it a quits with them. I'll come back to the later to see if there is any progress but for now it looks like this is going to be a JSB gun.
