Working with FX USA

I'm ordering parts for my impact, and must say, it's been an interesting experience.

First, when you call, (866) 639-0772, you immediately get dumped into a phone mail system that asks you to leave a phone number and they'll return the call. I called at about 8:00 am and they called back at about 3:30. Was a bit disappointed at the lag, but once on the phone, went like clockwork. Ordered a rebuild kit, and then she asked if I wanted to speak to a tech about whether the kit was the right part or not. Made an appointment for the tech to call at 9:00 this morning.

The tech called at 9 on the dot (11 Eastern), and confirmed that the regulator is what's leaking and that rebuilding the regulator was the correct action. I will say, if you want to talk to support, the schematics for your guns are available on the FX website. Download the schematics so you can describe the parts accurately. Luckily, I'd downloaded and could describe exactly where it was leaking and such.

Must admit, I've never worked with a manufacturer with that willingness to help

Good on ya, FX

I will say that all is not perfect with FX though. I sent them an e-mail on the main web site asking if the rebuild kits existed. the promise was to get back in 2 or 3 business days. That was on September 24, and they got back with my this morning, October 4, or 10 days. Don't e-mail the general e-mail address, call directly for service and take the call back. Works out much better that way.

Oh, and FX, why don't you put an ordering system in to simplify things?? Everyone needs parts eventually and the whole calling, call back, and hassles when you can just order the parts seems a bit time consuming.

Many thanks though for quick service, though $34 for the Delrin Regulator Post does seem a bit steep if you know what I mean!

Parts should have shipped yesterday, and hopefully be here shortly so I can rebuild the gun and get back to shooting -

Oh, and I do recommend the Impact, if you want to tinker. Not the best for someone that wants to just go out and shoot. Too many things that need to be set correctly. But, if you want a gun you can adjust into a laser at 100 yards, and have a Chronograph, and are willing to take the time to do the tuning, its an excellent choice. I freely admit I'm in way over my head, but loving every minute of learning.

I was considering an Impact when I bought my Crown back in May for that exact reason. Come to find out, although the Crown is considerably less complex, tuning it still requires quite a bit of fiddling around, the worst of which is getting it in and out of the stock. It's a P.I.T.A. due to the dials and the fact that every adjustment needs to be tested which you either need a really good gun vise to secure the action in, or you have to reassemble it each time you change something...

P.I.T.A.... but it is a brilliant gun to shoot as I'm sure the Impact is as well.
