World Championships 2021

I was sitting next to Ron Carlson one morning at the 2018 Phoenix AZ AAFTA Nationals morning pre-match meetings and he had with him and shared his plans of the SD complex and his ideas of the USA hosting the WORLDS in the foreseeable future. If not mistaken it appears his vision and work that started years ago has come to fruition. GREAT JOB RON !!!

Scott,

At this years Nationals, Ron Carlson was definitely the voice of reason, pleading his case, and making a large impact upon the membership that was present.

I'm all for having this Grand event at a location that can EASILY handle the amount of competitors that the World Championships require......I believe last year it approached and possibly exceeded 500 competitors.

My only fear is possible lack of participation due to location. I believe that the venue and the NFAA volunteers that Mr. Carlson has lined up, will be 100% capable of creating the perfect event. The lack of a major airport as an international travel hub, could be a hindrance to some European, and far away competitors. Meaning, I wouldn't think a lot of the registrants would want, or desire to swap flights, airlines, more than once, even twice to get to a World Championship match. Given all of the horror stories about airline travel with our one of a kind, multi-thousands of dollar rigs, makes for possible attendance to be low. I hope that I'm wrong, in this case, REALLY, REALLY wrong. But it is something that is in my mind.

I wish Ron Carlson and the NFAA Yankton, the best for this event, and I'm sure it will be one of the best, if not THE best. I will most likely be a competitor, but if I can help in whatever capacity that I am able, I will do so

Field Target Tech

I forgot to mention. There is no variance or allowance for going over. So be sure to set it for 11-11.5fpe to be safe. Also be sure to read up on additional equipment, how it's allowed to be used and how to shoot your positionals. Unlike AAFTA there are explicit explanations of the rules, how they are read and applied. Sort of😁

Their FB page is up to date but here's the website to start.

12 FPE max limit. Go over 1 FPS. You will be disqualified.

Not exactly.

On practice day, you get as many shots as you want to pass, and you can make adjustments.

And on each competition day, though you can't adjust anything, you get three shots in attempting to get under 12fpe.

But, if none of the three attempts register under 12fpe - then you are disqualified.
