Scott,
At this years Nationals, Ron Carlson was definitely the voice of reason, pleading his case, and making a large impact upon the membership that was present.
I'm all for having this Grand event at a location that can EASILY handle the amount of competitors that the World Championships require......I believe last year it approached and possibly exceeded 500 competitors.
My only fear is possible lack of participation due to location. I believe that the venue and the NFAA volunteers that Mr. Carlson has lined up, will be 100% capable of creating the perfect event. The lack of a major airport as an international travel hub, could be a hindrance to some European, and far away competitors. Meaning, I wouldn't think a lot of the registrants would want, or desire to swap flights, airlines, more than once, even twice to get to a World Championship match. Given all of the horror stories about airline travel with our one of a kind, multi-thousands of dollar rigs, makes for possible attendance to be low. I hope that I'm wrong, in this case, REALLY, REALLY wrong. But it is something that is in my mind.
I wish Ron Carlson and the NFAA Yankton, the best for this event, and I'm sure it will be one of the best, if not THE best. I will most likely be a competitor, but if I can help in whatever capacity that I am able, I will do so
