Tuning Would a tank enjoy a depinger, or only cylinders?

Maybe look into a full shroud, this Theoben rapid .20 caliber has a shroud that Allen Zasadney made and installed.
It’s incredibly quiet.
Wouldn’t get rid of a ping I don’t think.
But it’s my quietest rifle!

sorry, could you please explain to me what the difference is between a full shroud and the shroud/baffles that come with the Kratos in the first place?

Funny, after reading and contributing to this thread, I was at my local range and a guy showed up with a Sidewinder in 30 cal. He had his bottle dipped or sprayed with rubber tool coating. It was day glow orange. I asked him about it and he said it was not only to show it was a non powder burner but that it also dampened the sound. I asked if it worked and he swore by it. I could really tell no difference in the sound between my Sidewinder Compact .22 and his .30 other than the 30 is probably louder.

Interesting. I have an unopened can of black plastidip right next to me…I could try and always peel it off if it doesn’t work.

so if I understand correctly, your observation it that it may indeed have worked?

The big plenum regulated ones can have ‘the ping’ ,have made and fitted a few depinger and made it go…….
Why the word "Typically" was chosen.
Yes those PCP's with Very Large plenums and said plenums configured in a tube ahead of valve sitting between regulator may also ping to some degree. The URAGAN 3 was one such PCP that was observed having this trait.
Very few PCP's have such large plenums that this ping is of concern ... IMO

Plastic dip should be ok on metal bottles, but got to wonder if there could be some reaction on the carbon-epoxy bottles.

May have been quieter. The operative word is May. I cannot really say for sure. Hard to compare his .30 against my .22. Aluminum Bottle

The full shroud gathers the blast of air from the shot and then lets it slowly escape through little holes in the bottom rear of the shroud.
It looks like the Kratos has a full shroud I should have checked that out before answering your question!
