That's probably what I'll do but at this point I'll see if anything interesting comes out at the ShotShow. I'll be there this year so hopefully I'll notice something worth having.

I guess I'm kinda lucky I didn't get the Bandit.

The budget keeps going up, lol, always wanting something better, you know how that goes??!! Maybe I can find a Thomas for $500, just kidding.

Another thing I thought of was sawing the stock off behind the grip on a rifle. What rifles would you suggest to do this to?

I think I'll start another thread about modifying a rifle for PFT.

Look at the 1701P. Comes at 6FPE, but is fully adjustable just like the Marauder Pistol. Lothar Walther barrel, 10 meter dead accurate, excellent trigger, Love mine. Granted, I don't hunt with it, just target. Still have it at 6fpe, have adjusted the trigger to my liking. Can't say enough good stuff about the gun.

Don't know if the AGNATION code works on the Crosman site anymore, but it used to be good for 25% off.

I suppose in the long run it doesn't matter which you pick, just shoot it and have fun

I need the FPE to be lower than 12 for the stuff I'm shooting in the basement. Closer to 7 or 8 would be best so I will be getting the regulator.



To those that have added the regulator without any other additional mods. What's you caliber and what is your max shots per fill?

The Bandit is neither an FT pistol nor capable of being competitive in FT. It can be made marginally FT accurate, but the trigger cannot he smithed light enough and the pistol is too light weght for decent FT work. 

As I've said many times, resulting in close to a dozen 1720T sales for Crosman, unless you're willing to spend over a thousand bucks, a 1720T is FAR AND AWAY the best field target pistol in existence (for only about $450).

All about "personalizing" my stuff, preferably with WALNUT, I also wanted to add some weight/ballast to my 1720T-

I am going to throw you a curve here but if all I was doing was basement low power work, you should get a Beeman P17. The aggravating Bandit can’t hold a candle to it. No pumps, no regs, no horrible hammer bounce, no playing with a hammer spring that’s too heavy, no horrible ergonomics, an you can probably buy 3 of them for the price of the Bandit. My P17 is really accurate and actually feels like a pistol.

Nice wood there AirNGasman. You make that furniture yourself? Or just the forearm? I don't possess any of those skills. I just picked up a 1720T. In part probably based on what you've said about them before. So maybe I'm the lucky #13 sale you've made for Crosman . Actually I didn't buy it from Crosman really. Mine was used. I bought mine just because. I don't shoot FT as there is none of that silliness around here. lol. Just pulling your chain on FT being silly. Looks fun actually and I know you're quite accomplished in the sport. I shoot my 1720T as a carbine because I like to shoot my pistolas as pistols with arms extended and open sights and I find the 1720T a little too long. I do admire the work you've done to your pistols.

Thanks for the response. I already have a Gamo 430 and it's not powerful enough for my spinning Medusa target. I need more power than these single canister CO2 guns can produce. I'd add a regulator to the Bandit and set it to 8 FPE.

Yes and no to both questions, MileHigh. The grips are from Vernon Austin; but I removed the finger grooves that didn't fit my hand, and refinished them with the same low 'luster' finish I use on bows. An out of state buddy rough-shaped and inlletted the fore-end, then I finished shaping, glass bedded, and sprayed the same finish as the grips.

My basement range is almost an outdoor range. Just not limited to 10 yards.

Yup. The green Medusa at the bottom is what I'm trying to work with. My CO2 pistol has the punch to only flips target down and not back up. My Sig has too much punch as you can see in the video. It's designed for 600fps .177 so my plan is to use a regulated .177 Diana.

I have a Canadian Bandit from Wes at Airgun Archery and didn't realize it was going to be limited. When placing the order I did get it with the regulator, but I assume it is still limited to 450 fps. How can it be converted? This thread makes it sound like the brass connection port between the air tube and the breech is the limiting factor. Can I order one for the US market? I think Pyramid sells parts for these.
